In this paper, a dynamic stochastic resonance (DSR) based watermark detection technique in discrete wavelet transform (DWT) domain is presented. Pseudo random bit sequence having certain seed value is considered as a watermark. Watermark embedding is done by embedding random bits in spread-spectrum fashion to the significant DWT coefficients. Watermark detection is quantitatively characterized by the value of correlation. The performance of watermark detection is improved by DSR which is an iterative process that utilizes the internal noise present in the image or external noise which is added during attacks. Even under various noise attacks, geometrical distortions, image enhancement and compression attacks, the DSR-based random bits detection is observed to give noteworthy improvement over existing watermark detection techniques. DSR-based technique is also found to give better detection performance when compared with the suprathreshold stochastic resonance-based detection technique.

We study the time evolution of two ecosystems in the presence of external noise and climatic periodical forcing by a generalized Lotka-Volterra (LV) model. In the first ecosystem, composed by two competing species, we find noise induced phenomena such as: (i) quasi deterministic oscillations, (ii) stochastic resonance, (iii) noise delayed extinction and (iv) spatial patterns. In the second ecosystem, composed by three interacting species (one predator and two preys), using a discrete model of the LV equations we find that the time evolution of the spatial patterns is strongly dependent on the initial conditions of the three species.

Stochastic resonance (SR) phenomenon is emerged in organic field effect transistors (OFETs) using $\pi$-conjugated polymer, where application of external noise to the OFET system enhances signal/information processing performance which is often found in biological systems.The channel conductivity of the OFET is slightly increased by spin-coating using heated semiconductor polymer solution with heated glass substrate.In order to improve frequency responses of OFET, optimal width of the gate electrode is explored. Furthermore, it turns out that scratching and removing semiconductor film outside the source-drain electrodes and the channel enhances the On-Off current ratio of the device. These fabrication processes lead to steeper nonlinearity on the $I_{\rm DS}$ {\it vs.} $V_{\rm GS}$ curve, resulting in emergence of SR, which is fingerprinted in increase of correlation value between input and output signals with increase of intensity of external noise.

The dynamics of the nonautonomous Chua's circuit driven by a sinusoidal signal and additive noise is investigated numerically via the "two-state" dynamics method. The possibility of realizing the phenomenon of stochastic resonance (SR) is established. The SR is characterized by an increase in the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) due to the coherent interaction between the characteristic frequencies of the chaotic bistable Chua's circuit and the modulation frequency of the input. The SNR can be controlled by both external noise and system parameter variations in this circuit. The statistical characteristics of the "chaos-chaos" type intermittency and their correlation with the optimal conditions for SR are investigated.

In this paper, the interaction of noise with excitable dynamics of a three-electrode electrochemical cell is examined. Different scenarios involving both external and internal noise sources are considered. In the case of external noise, aperiodic stochastic resonance and regulation of the noise-induced spiking behaviour are investigated. In the case of internal noise, the interaction of intrinsic electrochemical noise with autonomous nonlinear dynamics is studied. The amplitude of this internal noise, determined by the concentration of chloride ions, is monotonically increased and the provoked dynamics are analysed. Our results indicate that internal noise, similar to its external counterpart, is able to induce regularity in the system response.
