Abstract: Seven membered heterocyclic Azepine and its derivatives have great pharmacological and therapeutic implications. In this review, the literature of the last fifty years has been exploited for the synthesis, reaction, and biological properties of these seven-member heterocyclic compounds. Most of the mechanisms involved the ring expansion of either five or six-membered compounds using various methods such as thermally, photo-chemically, and microwave irradiation. The systematically designed schemes involve the synthesis of different derivatives of azepine, azepinone, azepane, etc. using similar moieties by the different researchers. However, there is much work yet to be done in the biological section, as it is not explored and reported in the literature; therefore, N-containing seven-membered heterocycles still have much scope for the researchers.

Background: The complex photochemistry of aryl azides has fascinated scientists for several decades. Spectroscopists have investigated the intermediates formed by different analytical techniques. Theoretical chemists have explained the intrinsic interplay of intermediates under different experimental conditions. Objective & Method: A complete understanding of the photochemistry of a given fluoro aryl azide is a basic requisite for its use in chemistry. In this review, we will discuss the synthesis of several fluoro substituted aryl azides and the reactions and intermediates generated upon photolysis and thermolysis of these azides and some examples of their applications in photoaffinity labeling and organic synthesis. Conclusion: In spite of the extensive research on the photochemistry of fluoro aryl azides, there are some areas that remain to be investigated. The application of this reaction in the synthesis of novel heterocyclic compounds has not been fully studied. Since fluorophenyl azides are known to undergo C-H and N-H insertion reactions, they could be used to prepare new fluorinated molecules or in the biochemical process known as photoaffinity labeling.

AbstractSeveral described in literature crosslinking methods to obtain heterocyclic moieties were discussed in this review. Selected important properties of polyamides and their synthesis reactions were briefly presented. The heterocyclic moieties displayed a wide range of applications in medicine and industry. New heterocyclic derivatives obtained by linking heterocyclic moiety to amic acids and imides found diverse applications: as surfactants, antimicrobial agents, or corrosion inhibitors. The present article describes the state-of-the art synthesis methods of the heterocyclic compounds and their application.

AbstractNew pyrazolothienopyrimidines were synthesized. The key intermediate 4-aminothieno[2,3-c]pyrazole-5-carbonitrile 1 was converted to the chloroacetyl amino derivative 2 followed by nucleophilic substitution and Dimorth rearrangement upon treatment with nitrogen nucleophiles to give the pyrimidinones 3a-c. Treatment of 3a with formaldehyde and with triethyl orthoformate afforded the respective tetracyclic derivatives 4 and 5. Condensation of the amino group in the o-aminocarbonitrile 1 with triethyl orthoformate followed by cycloaddition reaction with hydrazine led to the formation of pyrazolothienopyrimidine 8. Compound 8 was used as a synthetic precursor to heterocyclic compounds comprised of pyrazole, triazole, triazine, and triazepine derivatives.
