The synthesis of 1H-3-aryl-7-ethoxycarbonyl-6-methyl-pyrazolo[5,1-c][1,2,4]triazoles (2) was carried out by cyclization of 1H-5-arylidenehydrazino-4-ethoxycarbonyl-3-methyl-pyrazoles (1) in the presence of bromine using glacial acetic acid as solvent and sodium acetate as base. The new nine obtained compounds were characterized by IR and NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry.

Aims: A series of six 4-benzylidene-2-((1-phenyl-3,4-dihydro isoquinoline-2(1H)-yl)methyloxazol- 5(4H)-one derivatives were synthesized by condensation of substituted aryl aldehydes with 2-(2-(1-phenyl-3,4- dihydro isoquinoline-2(1H)-acetamido)acetic acid in the presence of sodium acetate, acetic anhydride and zinc oxide as catalysts. Background: Novel Synthesis of 4-Benzylidene-2-((1-phenyl-3,4-dihy droisoquinoline-2(1H)-yl)methyl)oxazol- 5(4H)-one derivatives using 1,2,3,Tetrahydroisoquinoline and their antimicrobial activity. Objective: The title compounds can be synthesized from 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline. Methods: The target molecules, i.e., 4-benzylidene-2-((1-phenyl-3, 4-dihydro isoquinoline-2(1H)-yl) methyl) oxazol-5(4H)-one derivatives (8a-8f) have been synthesized from 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline which was prepared from benzoic acid in few steps. Results: All the six compounds were evaluated based on advanced spectral data (1H NMR, 13C NMR & LCMS), and the chemical structures of all compounds were determined by elemental analysis. Conclusion: Antibacterial activity of the derivatives was examined for the synthesized compounds and results indicate that compound with bromine substitution has a good activity profile.

The partitioning of radiotracer 152/151Eu between aqueous sodium oxalate (Na2L) solutions and toluene solutions of thenoyltrifluoroacetone (HTTA) has been studied as a function of the oxalate concentration. The pH of the aqueous phase was controlled by means of sodium acetate – acetic acid mixtures and the ionic strength (I) by NaCl or NaClO4.At low ionic strengths (~0.05) and [L] ~10−4 M EuL+ formed, but at I = 0.95 and [L] ~10−3 M EuL2− also formed. Stability constants for the 1:1 and 1:2 (metal:ligand) complexes are reported. The magnitudes of the stepwise stability constant ratios are discussed.

The  study aimed to determine the effect of chitosan on  the kidney of rats (Rattus sp.) exposed to lead acetate. Thirty five male animals weighing 250g were divided into 7 groups:  K group as a control (without treatment), P1  received  Pb (40 mg/kg bw as lead acetate),  while P2, P3, and P4, all received Pb (40 mg/kg bw) and chitosan (0,5%, 0,75%, and 1% respectively). P5 group received only chitosan (1%) and P6 group received acetic acid. After 7 weeks of  treatment, the animals were sacrificed and the kidneys were isolated. Kidney damage was observed with residue of Pb in kidney tissue was evaluated using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotography. Chitosan able to decrease kidney damage resulted from  Pb treatment. Residue of Pb in the  kidney of rat exposed to Pb acetate was decreased after chitosan treatment. In conclusion, chitosan has the ability to reduce residue of Pb after exposed Pb. The effectiveness of chitosan as a chelating agent for Pb in the organs is important  for   further investigated. Keywords: Pb, chitosan, kidny, residual Pb,AAS

In this work we describe the synthesis of some novel fused imidazo [2, 1-b] [1, 3] thiazole derivatives. The reaction of 1, 2-diaminoethane 1 with carbon disulphide in H2O/ETOH as solvent furnishes 4, 5-dihydro-1H-imidazol-2-thiol 2 under reflux condition. the reaction of 4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazol-2-thiol on treatment with ethylchloro acetate and aromatic aldehyde in presence of anhydrous sodium acetate and acetic acid as solvent to give (Z)-2-(arylidene)-5,6-dihydroimidazo [2,1-b] [1,3] thiazol-3(2H)-one 3a-j. Compounds 3a-j was condensed with hydroxylamine to give 3-(aryl)-2, 3, 6, 7-tetrahydroimidazo [2, 1-b] [1,3] thiazolo [5, 4-d] isoxazole 4a-j. The structures of the new compounds were established by elemental analyses, IR,1H NMR and13C NMR data.

Abstract Methods are presented in which diethylstilbestrol is extracted from feeds in the Goldfisch apparatus, transferred into alkaline sodium acetate solution to avoid emulsions, and measured colorimetrically in a sodium acetate-acetic acid buffer system. The procedure is rapid, and results agree closely with those obtained by the official method. Procedures are also presented for determination of diethylstilbestrol in molasses and fat mixtures.
