A method for the quantitative determination of streptomycin sulfate in medicines by the turbidimetric method has been developedand validated. Based on the results of the experiments, it was found that the metrological characteristics of such validation parameters of the method as linearity, precision, and correctness do not exceed the validation criteria. Linearity was noted in the range of streptomycin concentrations from 3.75 to 8.43 μg/ml. The results of validation tests of the method for the quantitative determination of streptomycin indicate the prospects and feasibility of introducing the turbidimetric method into the domestic system for standardization and quality assessment of aminoglycoside antibiotics.

Abstract We show that the turbidimetric method of Ziegenhorn et al. (Clin. Chem. 25: 1067, 1979) for determination of pancreatic lipase is not influenced by lipoprotein lipase. This improved specificity as compared to standard lipase methods is explained by the presence of purified colipase and the high concentration of bile acids in the substrate emulsion.

Abstract An LC method using a new cleanup technique was compared with 2 microbiological methods for determining small amounts of niacin in vinegar. Coefficients of variation for grain vinegar and rice vinegar were 8.33 and 5.3%, respectively, with the LC method, 5.26 and 2.0% with the titrimetric method, and 5.55 and 7.11 % with the turbidimetric method. Among the 3 methods, titrimetry was the most precise. The turbidimetric method tended to yield greater positive error than the titrimetric method. On the other hand, the titrimetric method requires a longer incubation period (72 h) than the turbidimetric method. The LC method using the new cleanup procedure may be useful for routine analysis of small amounts of niacin in vinegars.

Abstract A turbidimetric method for inorganic sulfates in urine, based on the precipitation of barium sulfate, is adapted to the AutoAnalyzer. Coating of the flowcell with BaSO4 is avoided by an inter-sample air rinsing. Sampling rate is 40/h.
