This paper presents an original and useful method for calculating and comparing the electrostatic component of the lattice energies of families of related, complex structures. The methodology and use of hypothetical, tractable steps in passing from one structure to another can be extended to families of crystal structures other than the phyllosilicates. Calculations made on a single ‘generic’ silicate, KX 2 X'T 4 O 10 (OH) 2 , enables us to obtain the lattice energies of 1M aluminium mica, phlogopite, talc, pyrophyllite, saponite, beidellite, illite, montmorillonite and hectorite and their fluorinated analogues. Site potentials are readily obtained when calculations are made in this manner. Considerable saving of computer time and effort coupled with little sacrifice of accuracy are a feature of this approach. The paper further goes on to suggest how comparison of this type of generic calculation with the results obtained from calculations made on the true individual phyllosilicate structure can extend the potential information that can be gained from these studies. The investigation of substitutional and relaxation energies of the phyllosilicates is considered. Surface energies (shown to be quadratic functions of x for micas derived from the structure A X X 2 X'T 4 O 10 (OH) 2 , (A = Na or K)) are calculated on the same principle, from, in this case, a ‘generic’ expanded lattice. The transferability principle introduced in this work enables us to make specific predictions regarding minerals for which single crystal X-ray diffraction studies are impractical. We attempt wherever possible an interpretation of the energies we calculate.

The article proposes a new approach to assessing the operational safety of materials and parts of complex structures based on artificial intelligence methods based on artificial neural networks and multi-criteria complex non-destructive testing, and special mathematical and algorithmic support for systems for evaluating operational safety and predicting residual life under external influences. A method of morphological analysis of the procedures for using measurement tools for heterogeneous information with different a priori information, both about the type of characteristics and the distribution of errors in the input and output signals, has been developed. The classification of problems of measuring parameters for the integration of heterogeneous information is proposed. A macromodel of error is obtained that can be used for research purposes to minimize errors in the developed equipment or for the purpose of correcting errors during operation. A classification of methods for measuring heterogeneous information from the standpoint of probability distribution theory is proposed. Experimental testing of developed algorithms tailored aggregation of information non-destructive testing and adaptation to poorly formalized parameters, which confirmed the effectiveness of the developed methods and algorithms for assessment of structures and resource forecasting their operational reliability was carried out.

Flowers are complex structures devoted to pollinator attraction, through visual as well as chemical signals. As bees collect nectar on flowers to produce honey, some aspects of floral chemistry are transferred to honey, making chemical markers an important technique to identify the botanical and geographical origins of honey. We applied a new approach that considers the simultaneous analysis of different floral parts (petals, stamens + pistils, calyxes + nectarines, and nectar) and the corresponding unifloral honey. We collected fresh flowers ofRobinia pseudoacaciaL. (black locust), selected five samples ofRobiniahoney from different geographical origins, applied SPME-GC/MS for volatile analyses, and defined the chemical contribution added by different floral parts to the honey final bouquet. Our results show that honey blends products from nectar as well as other flower parts. Comparing honey and flower profiles, we detected compounds coming directly from flower parts but not present in the nectar, such as hotrienol andβ-pinene. These may turn out to be of special interest when selecting floral markers for the botanical origin of honey.

The mathematical modeling of the magnetoelectric (ME) effect in ME laminates has been established for some simple structures. However, these methods, which are based on the differential equation approach, are difficult to use in other complex structures (e.g., ring structures). In this work, a new established approach based on the generalized Hamilton’s principle is used to analyze the ME effect in an ME laminated ring. Analytical expressions for ME voltage coefficients are derived. A comparison with the conventional method indicates that this approach is more convenient when the modeling analysis is performed on complex structures. Further, experimental data are also obtained to compare with the theoretical calculations in order to validate the new approach.

A majority of current work in events extraction assumes the static nature of relationships in constant expertise knowledge bases. However, in collaborative environments, such as Wikipedia, information and systems are extraordinarily dynamic over time. In this work, we introduce a new approach for extracting complex structures of events from Wikipedia. We advocate a new model to represent events by engaging more than one entities that are generalizable to an arbitrary language. The evolution of an event is captured successfully primarily based on analyzing the user edits records in Wikipedia. Our work presents a basis for a singular class of evolution-aware entity-primarily based enrichment algorithms and will extensively increase the quality of entity accessibility and temporal retrieval for Wikipedia. We formalize this problem case and conduct comprehensive experiments on a real dataset of 1.8 million Wikipedia articles in order to show the effectiveness of our proposed answer. Furthermore, we suggest a new event validation automatic method relying on a supervised model to predict the presence of events in a non-annotated corpus. As the extra document source for event validation, we chose the Web due to its ease of accessibility and wide event coverage. Our outcomes display that we are capable of acquiring 70% precision evaluated on a manually annotated corpus. Ultimately, we conduct a comparison of our strategy versus the Current Event Portal of Wikipedia and discover that our proposed WikipEvent along with the usage of Co-References technique may be utilized to provide new and more data on events.

In a new approach, by using the exact sequences, semisprays on the prolongation of a Lie algebroids are introduced and many important results on the semisprays and sprays are obtained. The article discusses ecosystem companies. This is a set of enterprises that produce a wide range of goods and services in various industries and under a single brand. The development of an ecosystem forms an attitude towards it as a brand, and not as a legal entity or a group of companies. This brand is represented as a set of goods and services from different industries. This study clarified the boundaries of the concept of socio-economic ecosystem and the target properties of its elements. These elements are harmony, complementarity, universality, seamlessness and connectedness. The article formulates the sequence of transformations of the company into an ecosystem. Transformation occurs through micro-, meso- and industrial levels of activity. This allowed us to structure the levels of ecosystem development. The initial level is a separate enterprise, then to the industry structure and, as a result, to the industrial structure. Ecosystem companies form a new approach to managing large and complex structures. Its main difference is a set of cyclic and point solutions. Such control is characterized by milder effects. Ecosystem management is a set of unique non-cyclic solutions that form the concept of ecosystem development. There are three ways ecosystems interact with each other. The first is an explicit partnership, the second is secretive in a parasitic form, and the third is indirectly through an intermediary ecosystem. Similar ways of interaction in the future will lead to integration processes of merging and absorption of ecosystems. These processes require a particular managerial staff, taking into account large and complex structures.
