Abstract In this study, a three-stage bioaerosol sampler with a sampling flow rate of 170 L/min was designed and fabricated for sampling the bioaerosols released during human breathing and coughing, and its performance was evaluated. The sampler was constructed using a cyclone separator with a cutoff size of 2.5 µm as a preseparator, a multi-nozzle virtual impactor with a cutoff size of 0.34 µm as an aerosol concentrator, and a BioSampler, which is a commercial product, for collecting bioaerosols in a collection fluid. The collection efficiency of the sampler was evaluated through simulations and experiments. Only particles with sizes of 0.1-4 µm were selectively collected in the collection fluid. Bacteriophage bioaerosols were sampled using the developed sampler and ACD-200 Bobcat sampler, which is a commercial product. The amounts of collected bacteriophages were compared using the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique. The sampling performance of the developed sampler was similar to that of the ACD-200 Bobcat sampler. Moreover, the developed sampler showed its ability to sample bioaerosols of a specific size-range and collect them directly in a collection fluid for the PCR analysis. Therefore, the developed sampler is expected to be useful for indoor environmental monitoring by effectively sampling the bioaerosols released indoors during human breathing and coughing.

Use of Sex in advertising continues despite the public outcry against it. Exposing mature adults to sex based advertising often invites lesser criticism compared to advertising that targets teenagers. Its use in advertising is no more confined to adult programs on television or adult literature; its consequences are far reaching in the context of exposure through mass media. Although some level of sex content might help in selling, the real questions are: how much sex content is appropriate; when is the use of such content appropriate, and for which target audience. The present research aims to explore some of these questions through consumer data in which teenagers are shown a series of print and television advertisements with different degree of sex content for different product categories. This paper attempts to find out the effectiveness of sex based advertising on the overall attitude and behavioural intention of respondents by application of Fishbien Behavioural Intention Model. The paper tries to find out the relationship between the use of sex content in advertisements for commercial and non-commercial product category at different levels of depiction and behavioural intention towards product categories. The results show that the respondents find sex-content based advertisement to be in bad taste in the context of family setting and there is a relatively moderating effect on the behavioural intention of consumers upon exposure to commercial product advertisements.

The incorporation of magnesium in the synthetic apatite has been associated with biomineralization process and osteoporosis therapy in human and animals. Magnesium easily replaces calcium in the apatite lattice and influences or controls the hydroxyapatite crystallization processes. In this work, Mg-substituted calcium deficient apatite, with Mg/Ca ratio = 0.1, 0.15 and 0.2 were synthesized by precipitation method. Then, sintered at 1000 oC and compared with a commercial product labeled as tricalcium phosphate sintered at the 1000 oC. The sintered products showed tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP) structure. The Mg2+ substitution in the Ca(4) and Ca(5) sites of β-TCP and the lattice parameter changes were estimated using the Rietveld method. Using this method, the formulas Ca2.73(Mg0.27)(PO4)2, Ca2.71(Mg0.29)(PO4)2 and Ca2.70(Mg0.23Mg0.07)(PO4)2 were calculated for the samples with Mg/Ca ratio = 0.1, 0.15 and 0.2 respectively.
