It is experimentally demonstrated that the coated SiO2 shell has an influence on the kinetics of the polymorphous transition of iron(iii) oxides with manganese ions derived from coordination polymer particles, generating a meta-stable bixbyite crystal phase structure.

We report the first photoinduced single-crystal-to-single-crystal phase transition of a gold complex that involves shortening of intermolecular aurophilic bonds. The gold(i) isocyanide complex also shows a photosalient effect.

A new polymorphic quasiracemate d-2-aminobutyric acid:l-norvaline has been discovered and its reversible single-crystal-to-single-crystal phase transition has been studied using XRD, DSC and thermal microscopy. The low temperature form I is fully ordered, while form II shows two conformations for l-norvaline with a 50/50 occupancy.
