AbstractThe phase diagram of an antiferromagnet with the spin crossover from the high-spin to low-spin state with S = 0 with increasing external pressure has been calculated with regard to the pressure dependence of the exchange integral. The calculated results are compared with the experimental data on ferropericlase Fe_ x Mg_1 – x O.

We studied the spin-state dependence of the electrical conductivity of two nanocrystalline powder samples of the spin crossover complex [Fe(pyrazine){Au(CN)2}2]. By applying an external pressure (up to 3 kbar), we were able to tune the charge transport properties of the material from a more conductive low spin state to a crossover point toward a more conductive high spin state. We rationalize these results by taking into account the spin-state dependence of the activation parameters of the conductivity.

A pentadentate Schiff-base ligand 3,5Cl-L2− and NCSe− form a iron(iii) mononuclear complex [Fe(3,5Cl-L)(NCSe)], which shows a thermally induced spin crossover with a broad hysteresis width of 24 K between 123 K (warming) and 99 K (cooling).
