AbstractExploring further the properties of ITRM-recognizable reals started in [1], we provide a detailed analysis of recognizable reals and their distribution in Gödels constructible universe L. In particular, we show that new unrecognizable reals are generated at every index $\gamma \, \ge \,\omega _\omega ^{CK}$. We give a machine-independent characterization of recognizability by proving that a real r is recognizable if and only if it is ${\Sigma _1}$-definable over ${L_{\omega _\omega ^{CK,\,r}}}$ and that $r\, \in \,{L_{\omega _\omega ^{CK,\,r}}}$ for every recognizable real r and show that either every or no r with $r\, \in \,{L_{\omega _\omega ^{CK,\,r}}}$ generated over an index stage ${L_\gamma }$ is recognizable. Finally, the techniques developed along the way allow us to prove that the halting number for ITRMs is recognizable and that the set of ITRM-computable reals is not ITRM-decidable.

The article is devoted to the problems of ethnic-cultural perceptions in contemporary Karachay-Balkar poetry. It defines criteria for shaping an ethnic and civic self-identity. The paper discusses how cultural globalization affects the ideology of the Karachay-Balkar people. In a detailed analysis of works by N. Bayramkulov and A. Bakkuev, two poets of a younger generation, the author argues that fundamental values and stereotypes take priority in the poetic mentality of younger artists. Closely examining the themes of the poets’ works – philosophy, religion, history, society and politics – the author specially describes the way each poet deals with the nation’s artistic memory. Another focus is on the analysis of poetics. It is suggested that the young poets’ creative method is found at convergence of realism and mythopoeia. Their poetry centers around the mythical images of stone, water, mountains, and ‘taulu’ (‘a man of the mountains’).

: Central dogma of molecular biology has remained cornerstone of classical molecular biology but serendipitous discovery of microRNAs (miRNAs) in nematodes paradigmatically shifted our current understanding of the intricate mech-anisms which occur during transitions from transcription to translation. Discovery of miRNA captured tremendous attention and appreciation and we had witnessed an explosion in the field of non-coding RNAs. Ground-breaking discoveries in the field of non-coding RNAs have helped in better characterization of microRNAs and long non-coding RNAs (LncRNAs). There is an ever-increasing list of miRNA targets which are regulated by MALAT1 to stimulate or repress expression of tar-get genes. However, in this review our main focus is to summarize mechanistic insights related to MALAT1-mediated regu-lation of oncogenic signaling pathways. We have discussed how MALAT1 modulated TGF/SMAD and Hippo pathways in various cancers. We have also comprehensively summarized how JAK/STAT and Wnt/β-catenin pathways stimulated MALAT1 expression and consequentially how MALAT1 potentiated these signaling cascades to promote cancer. MALAT1 research has undergone substantial broadening however, there is still a need to identify additional mechanisms. MALAT1 is involved in multi-layered regulation of multiple transduction cascades and detailed analysis of different pathways will be helpful in getting a step closer to individualized medicine.

That Shakespeare adds a limp to the received characterization of Richard III is only the most conspicuous instance of his interest in how actors walked, ran, danced, and wandered. His attention to actors’ footwork, as an originating condition of performance, can be traced from Richard III through A Midsummer Night’s Dream and As You Like It into Macbeth, which is preoccupied with the topic and activity all the way to the protagonist’s melancholy conclusion that ‘Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player | That struts and frets his hour upon the stage’. Drawing on classical and early modern accounts of how people walk and should walk, on ideas about time and prosody, and the experience of disability, this chapter cites episodes in the history of performance to show how actors, including Alleyn, Garrick, and Olivier, have worked with the opportunities to dramatize footwork that are provided by Shakespeare’s plays.

AbstractBounded and compact differences of two composition operators acting from the weighted Bergman space $$A^p_\omega $$ A ω p to the Lebesgue space $$L^q_\nu $$ L ν q , where $$0<q<p<\infty $$ 0 < q < p < ∞ and $$\omega $$ ω belongs to the class "Equation missing" of radial weights satisfying two-sided doubling conditions, are characterized. On the way to the proofs a new description of q-Carleson measures for $$A^p_\omega $$ A ω p , with $$p>q$$ p > q and "Equation missing", involving pseudohyperbolic discs is established. This last-mentioned result generalizes the well-known characterization of q-Carleson measures for the classical weighted Bergman space $$A^p_\alpha $$ A α p with $$-1<\alpha <\infty $$ - 1 < α < ∞ to the setting of doubling weights. The case "Equation missing" is also briefly discussed and an open problem concerning this case is posed.

In this paper, we study the dynamics of the family of rational maps with two parameters $$\begin{eqnarray}f_{a,b}(z)=z^{n}+\frac{a^{2}}{z^{n}-b}+\frac{a^{2}}{b},\end{eqnarray}$$ where $n\geq 2$ and $a,b\in \mathbb{C}^{\ast }$. We give a characterization of the topological properties of the Julia set and the Fatou set of $f_{a,b}$ according to the dynamical behavior of the orbits of the free critical points.

The phenomenology of T.T. CloeteThis article is an exploration of the way phenomena are treated in the poetry of T.T. Cloete. Four important aspects of Cloete's way of looking are discussed, viz. the collecting eye that connects everything with everything, the eye that discovers correspondences, the deological eye that reads signs of God’s presence, and the reflecting eye. A critique of reflection is developed by means of a more detailed analysis of “Blydskap” (Joy). These four ways of seeing indicate links between Cloete's poetry and Husserl’s Phenomenology.
