We give necessary and sufficient conditions for nuclearity of Cuntz–Nica–Pimsner algebras for a variety of quasi-lattice ordered groups. First we deal with the free abelian lattice case. We use this as a stepping-stone to tackle product systems over quasi-lattices that are controlled by the free abelian lattice and satisfy a minimality property. Our setting accommodates examples like the Baumslag–Solitar lattice for $n=m>0$ and the right-angled Artin groups. More generally, the class of quasi-lattices for which our results apply is closed under taking semi-direct and graph products. In the process we accomplish more. Our arguments tackle Nica–Pimsner algebras that admit a faithful conditional expectation on a small fixed point algebra and a faithful copy of the coefficient algebra. This is the case for CNP-relative quotients in-between the Toeplitz–Nica–Pimsner algebra and the Cuntz–Nica–Pimsner algebra. We complete this study with the relevant results on exactness.

AbstractLet H i be a sublattice subgroup of a lattice-ordered group G i (i = 1, 2). Suppose that H 1 and H 2 are isomorphic as lattice-ordered groups, say by φ. In general, there is no lattice-ordered group in which G 1 and G 2 can be embedded (as lattice-ordered groups) so that the embeddings agree on the images of H 1 and H 1φ. In this article we prove that the group free product of G 1 and G 2 amalgamating H 1 and H 1φ is right orderable and so embeddable (as a group) in a lattice-orderable group. To obtain this, we use our necessary and sufficient conditions for the free product of right-ordered groups with amalgamated subgroup to be right orderable [BLUDOV, V. V.—GLASS, A. M. W.: Word problems, embeddings, and free products of right-ordered groups with amalgamated subgroup, Proc. London Math. Soc. (3) 99 (2009), 585–608]. We also provide new limiting examples to show that amalgamation can fail in the category of lattice-ordered groups even when the amalgamating sublattice subgroups are convex and normal (ℓ-ideals) and solve of Problem 1.42 from [KOPYTOV, V. Conrad ((2)), has shown that any lattice group which obeys (C.F.) each strictly positive element exceeds at most a finite number of pairwise orthogonal elements may be constructed, from a family of simply ordered groups, by carrying out, alternately, the operations of forming finite direct sums and lexico extensions, at most a countable number of times. The main result of this paper, Theorem 3.1, gives necessary and sufficient conditions for a multilattice group, which obeys (ℋ*), to be isomorphic to a multilattice group which is constructed from a family of almost ordered groups, by carrying out, alternately, the operations of forming arbitrary direct sums and lexico extensions, any number of times; we call such a group a lexico sum of the almost ordered groups.

Abstract We consider the problem of describing the lattices of compact ℓ {\ell} -ideals of Abelian lattice-ordered groups. (Equivalently, describing the spectral spaces of Abelian lattice-ordered groups.) It is known that these lattices have countably based differences and admit a Cevian operation. Our first result says that these two properties are not sufficient: there are lattices having both countably based differences and Cevian operations, which are not representable by compact ℓ {\ell} -ideals of Abelian lattice-ordered groups. As our second result, we prove that every completely normal distributive lattice of cardinality at most ℵ 1 {\aleph_{1}} admits a Cevian operation. This complements the recent result of F. Wehrung, who constructed a completely normal distributive lattice having countably based differences, of cardinality ℵ 2 {\aleph_{2}} , without a Cevian operation.

Let F be a local field with ring of integers and unique prime ideal (p). Suppose that V a finite-dimensional regular quadratic space over F, W and W′ are two isometric subspaces of V (i.e. τ: W → W′ is an isometry from W to W′). By the well-known Witt's Theorem, τ can always be extended to an isometry σ ∈ O(V).The integral analogue of this theorem has been solved over non-dyadic local fields by James and Rosenzweig [2], over the 2-adic fields by Trojan [4], and partially over the dyadics by Hsia [1], all for the special case that W is a line. In this paper we give necessary and sufficient conditions that two arbitrary dimensional subspaces W and W′ are integrally equivalent over non-dyadic local fields.

AbstractThe purpose of this paper is to examine the relationship between the quotient problem for right noetherian nonsingular rings and the quotient problem for semicritical rings. It is shown that a right noetherian nonsingular ring R has an artinian classical quotient ring iff certain semicritical factor rings R/Ki, i = 1,…,n, possess artinian classical quotient rings and regular elements in R/Ki lift to regular elements of R for all i. If R is a two sided noetherian nonsingular ring, then the existence of an artinian classical quotient ring is equivalent to each R/Ki possessing an artinian classical quotient ring and the right Krull primes of R consisting of minimal prime ideals. If R is also weakly right ideal invariant, then the former condition is redundant. Necessary and sufficient conditions are found for a nonsingular semicritical ring to have an artinian classical quotient ring.

AbstractLet G be a finite group, let k be a field and let R be a finite dimensional fully G-graded k-algebra. Also let L be a completely reducible R-module and let P be a projective cover of R. We give necessary and sufficient conditions for P|R1 to be a projective cover of L|R1 in Mod (R1). In particular, this happens if and only if L is R1-projective. Some consequences in finite group representation theory are deduced.

J. Lambek and G. Michler [3] have initiated the study of a ring of quotients RP associated with a two-sided prime ideal P in a right noetherian ring R. The ring RP is the quotient ring (in the sense of [1]) associated with the hereditary torsion class τ consisting of all right R-modules M for which HomR(M, ER(R/P)) = 0, where ER(X) is the injective hull of the R-module X.In the present paper, we shall study further the properties of the ring RP. The main results are Theorems 4.3 and 4.6. Theorem 4.3 gives necessary and sufficient conditions for the torsion class associated with P to have property (T), as well as some properties of RP when these conditions are indeed satisfied, while Theorem 4.6 gives necessary and sufficient conditions for R to satisfy the right Ore condition with respect to (P).
