Directional transmission in millimeter wave (mmWave) communications results in prolonged access times. This is attributed to the increased number of conducted measurements to determine optimum beam directions at the mobile station (MS) and base station (BS) that return the highest received signal levels. Additionally, once these beams are determined and links are established for data-planes, then blockage effects and outages make these links more vulnerable to link failures, resulting in communications drops. Hence, dynamic and fast recovery schemes are required to maintain communications sessions following the beam access stage. In this paper, a novel recovery access scheme is proposed for multi-point mmWave communications based on fog access points (AP). Namely, the scheme leverages diversity and network coding techniques to achieve near-instantaneous recovery times, without the need for beam scanning. The scheme features near-instantaneous data recovery times and efficient power consumption as compared to traditional recovery methods.

Edge computing refers to decentralized computing technology to reduce cloud computing's overload or security problems that redirect local data to a central data center. Edge computing is emerging as a technology that complements cloud computing in an IoT environment where huge amounts of data are generated in real time. Recently, solid state drives using flash memory have recently been recognized as a suitable storage for massive IoT data services. In this study, we propose a new data recovery scheme based on shadow paging using flash memory for effective and safe data services in IoT edge gateways. The proposed scheme recycles invalidated old data blocks that are discarded when new data is stored. Thus, The proposed scheme minimizes the burden of additional storage space required to traditional shadow paging schemes, and reduces I/O performance degradation. Simulation results show that the space gain of the proposed scheme reaches even to 29%.

An FTL (flash translation layer), which most flash storage devices are equipped with, needs to guarantee the consistency of modified metadata from a sudden power failure. This crash recovery scheme significantly affects the writing performance of a flash storage device during its normal operation, as well as its reliability and recovery performance; therefore, it is desirable to make the crash recovery scheme efficient. Despite the practical importance of a crash recovery scheme in an FTL, few works exist that deal with the crash recovery issue in FTL in a comprehensive manner. This study proposed a novel crash recovery scheme called FastCheck for a hybrid mapping FTL called Fully Associative Sector Translation (FAST). FastCheck can efficiently secure the newly generated address-mapping information using periodic checkpoints, and at the same time, leverages the characteristics of an FAST FTL, where the log blocks in a log area are used in a round-robin way. Thus, it provides two major advantages over the existing FTL recovery schemes: one is having a low logging overhead during normal operations in the FTL and the other to have a fast recovery time in an environment where the log provisioning rate is relatively high, e.g., over 20%, and the flash memory capacity is very large, e.g., 32 GB or 64 GB.

The article substantiates the expediency of improving the legal support for the introduction and use of energy-efficient lighting equipment, as well as smart networks (Smart Grid), taking into account the ongoing digitalization of the Russian economy and electric power industry. The goal of scientific research is formulated, which is to develop practical recommendations on optimization of the public relations legal regulation in the digital power engineering sector. The research methodology is represented by the interaction of the legal and sociological aspects of the scientific methods system. The current regulatory and legal basis for the transformation of digital electricity relations has been determined. The need to modernize the system of the new technologies introduction legal regulation for generation, storage, transmission of energy, intelligent networks, including a riskbased management model, is established. A set of standardsetting measures was proposed to transform the legal regulation of public relations in the field of energyefficient lighting equipment with the aim of creating and effectively operating a single digital environment, both at the Federal and regional levels. A priority is set for the development of “smart” power grids and highly efficient power equipment in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation through a set of legal, economic (financial), edu cational measures.
