Based on TEOS system and sol-gel process, together with catalysts, Antireflective coating films prepared by sol—gel on glass substrate have been processed by rapid thermal annealing (RTA). the refractive index and thinkness of SiO2 film is exactly controlled. The films are characterized by ellipsometer and SEM respectively. The quantum states in these processions are found and discussed.

ABSTRACTThe sol-gel process has been applied for the synthesis of inorganic-organic powder materials. For this purpose, low reactivity and, for reasons of comparison, nanoscaled sol-gel precursors and nanoscaled silica filler were used to synthesize a low molecular weight inorganic-organic composite which was meltable between 85°C and 100°C and curable at temperatures of 150°C - 200°C. The powders were used for electrostatic coating of aluminum sheets. The resulting coatings of the unfilled system exhibited excellent mechanical properties, e. g. a high abrasion resistance (weight losses between 6 mg and 10 mg per 1000 cycles by taber abrader test (ASTM D1044)) and high values for hardness (universal hardness (DIN 55676): 150 N/mm2). The hardness of the materials was increased up to 210 N/mm2 by the addition of silica, while the abrasion resistance remained unaffected.

Based on TEOS system and sol-gel process together with catalysts and organic polymer, the microstructure of SiO2 film is controlled. The films are characterized by ellipsometer and SEM respectively. The experimental results show an antireflective film produced by incorporation of organic polymer in the precursor solution is a more effective method of effect the uniformly porous structures of SiO2 thin film on the glass substrate.

The properties of the cotton fabric with water-repellence finishing by sol method with the hexadecyltrimethoxysilane as additive were observed. The cotton fabrics were immersed in the prepared sols with double dip and double nip dried at 90°C, annealed at 160°C for 3 min. The water repellence and the physical properties such as gas permeability, bending properties, beetling properties, tensile strength, elongation at break, abrasion resistance, and anti-crease properties of the cotton fabrics were investigated. The results showed that anti-crease and tensile strength were improved. However, the abrasion resistance of the cotton fabrics decreased in some way. Both the bending and beetling properties measurement proved that the handle of the treated cotton fabrics changed stiffness. For the dyed fabrics by the water-repellent finishing, the hue was slightly changed, the deeper color was achieved. There is no adverse effect for treated fabric by water-repellent finishing on the fastness.

Based on TEOS system and sol-gel process, together with catalysts, the microstructure of SiO2 particles in the sol is exactly controlled. The films are characterized by ellipsometer and SEM respectively. The experimental results show that adjusting catalytic time can effectively effect the uniformly porous structures of SiO2 thin film on the glass substrate.
