This research aims 1) To determine the effect of interaction of different plant spacing and the provision of mulch to growth and yield of tomato plants. 2) To know the different spacing affect the growth and yield of tomato plants. 3) To know the use of mulch type effect on growth and yield of tomato plants. This research was conducted by using Randomized Block Design in Factorial (RAK) with 2 factors, first factor is plant spacing (J) consisting of 3 levels ie 40x30 cm (J1), 40x50 cm (J2), 40x70 cm (J3) . The second factor is mulch (M) consisting of 3 levels ie: without mulch (M0 / control), straw mulch (M1), plastic mulch (M2). The variables observed were plant height, number of branches, number of bunches, number of fruit, and fruit weight. Data were analyzed by using variance analysis (Anova), 5% level. The results showed that: There was no interaction between plant spacing and mulch on growth and yield of tomato plants. Treatment spacing 40x50 (J2) effect on the number of bunches of 35 HST, the weight of the first harvest fruit and total fruit weight. The use of straw mulch type (M1) has an effect on plant height, number of branches, number of 35 HST bunches, and total fruit weight.

Problems in the cultivation of plants pakchoy caused by the influence of the physical environment such as climate, wind, temperature, the intensity of solar radiation, humidity, and soil. The research aims to know types of mulch and patterns of the plant spacing for optimizing on growth and yield of pakchoy. This experiment had been conducted in the experimental field Margahayu, Balai Penelitian Tanaman Sayuran, Lembang on September-November 2016. The design of the research which used was randomized block design factorial with 9 treatment combinations and 3 replications. The first factor is “Types of Mulch”, the use of M0 (no mulch), M1 (black silver plastic mulch), and M2 (rice straw mulch). The second factor is “The Plant Spacing Patterns”, which are J0 (10x10 cm_triangle), J1 (20x20 cm_square), and J2 (30x30 cm_hexagonal). Data was analyzed with analysis of variance (ANOVA) and continued with Duncan Multiple’s Range Test (DMRT) at α=5%. The result showed that the use of black silver plastic mulch and spacing pattern of 20x20 cm (square) is a combination of the best treatment because it has the fresh weight of the canopy and the fresh weight of the roots of the most highest when compared to treatment with a combination of other, namely fresh weight of canopy 5,02 kg and weight of fresh roots 253,6 g.

The study was conducted in Pepara Village, Tanah Grogot District, Paser Regency. The research was conducted from October 2018 to February 2019. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of planting distance and mulch use on the growth and yield of cayenne pepper (Capsicum frutescens L.). This research was in the form of an experiment using a Randomized Block Design arranged in factorial two factors with three replications. The first factor is the treatment of plant spacing with three levels, namely j1 = 60 x 60 cm, j2 = 60 x 70 cm, j3 = 60 x 80 cm. The second factor is the use of mulch which consists of 3 levels, namely m1 = no mulch, m2 = rice straw mulch, m3 = silver black plastic mulch.  Based on the results of the study showed the results that plant spacing had a very significant effect on the height of Chilli plants at the age of 2 MST and 4 MST, the number of productive branches, the number of fruits per crop of the second harvest sample, the weight of the fruit per crop of the second harvest sample, weight of fruit per bed and weight of fruit per hectare. The use of mulch also has a very significant effect on plant height at ages 2 MST, 4 MST, number of productive branches, the weight of fruit per crop of the second harvest sample, weight of fruit per bed and weight of fruit per hectare. While the interaction between the two plant spacing treatments with the use of mulch had no significant effect on plant height at ages 2 MST, 4 MST, 6 MST, the number of proactive branches, the number of fruit planted samples, the weight of fruit planted samples, fruit weight per bed and fruit weight per hectare.

Okra or Lady’s finger, botanically known as Abelmoschus esculentus (L.) Moench, is a tropical and sub-tropical indigenous vegetable crop commonly grown for its fibrous, slimy, and nutritious fruits and consumed by all classes of population. It has also several medicinal and economic values. Despite its many uses and potential value, its importance is under estimated, under-utilized, and considered a minor crop and little attention was paid to its improvement. The study was conducted to evaluate the effects of different planting densities and mulching materials on the growth and yield of okra grown in slightly sloping area in the marginal uplands in Sta. Rita, Samar, Philippines. A split-plot experiment was set up with planting density as main plot and the different mulching materials as the sub-plot which were: unmulched or bare soil, rice straw, rice hull, hagonoy and plastic mulch. Planting density did not significantly affect the growth and yield of okra. Regardless ofthe mulching materials used, mulched plants were taller and yielded higher compared to unmulched plants. Moreover, the use of plastic mulch resulted to the highest total fruit yield. The results indicate the potential of mulching in increasing yield and thus profitability of okra production under marginal upland conditions.

The method used in this research was two-factor Randomized Block Design with split plot arrangement and three replications. The main plot was the mulch type which consists of three treatments, namely: control, cogon grass and silver-black plastic mulch, and as sub plot was the dose of gandasil-B which consists of four 4 levels, namely: 0, 1, 2, and 3 g L-1 water. Results showed that the interaction between different types of mulch and gandasil-B fertilizer only had significant effect on the diameter of the stem, the number of productive branch, the number of fruit per plant, and the weight of fruit per plant. The utilization of silver-black plastic mulch and gandasil- B fertilizer at the concentration of 3 g L-1 water showed more number of productive branch (14.00 branches) and number of fruit (151.17 fruits) per plant and the weight of fruit (166.52 g) per plant was significantly higher. Keywords : Mulch, cogon grass, silver-black plastic, Gandasil-B, inland peat soil                                                                                                                                       ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh jenis mulsa dan pupuk gandasil-B terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman cabai rawit (Capsicum fruestescens L.) pada tanah gambut pedalaman.
