Water quality of Poyang Lake is facing serious threats with the quick development of Jiangxi Province. Water quality control and pollution prevention of Poyang Lake have become important problems set before Jiangxi Province. To keep good water quality of Poyang Lake, a series of pollution-preventing strategies were studied. In order to prevent point source (PS) pollution, industrial types and layout, management measures and production technique should be improved. Strategies to prevent non-point source (NPS) pollution include four aspects. First is to transform part of NPS pollution to PS pollution by rationally laying out industry system. Second is to construct spatially harmonious and reasonable landscape pattern. Third is to reform conventional agricultural production by using advanced chemical and biological technologies. Fourth is to carry out Best Management Practices (BMPs) and Low-impact Development (LID) by learning and innovation.

According to the nonlinearity and uncertainty of the water quality data samples, a forecasting model based on Simulated Annealing Genetic Algorithm(SAGA)and least squares support vector machines(LS-SVM) is proposed. Through adaptively optimizing the model parameters of LS-SVM by SAGA, we can apply the model to forecast water quality of Poyang Lake. The experimental results indicate that compared to the typical LS-SVM,the model is very practical and with higher precision.

Approximately 75% of the East Asian Flyway Tundra Swan Cygnus columbianus bewickii population winters in the Yangtze River floodplain, China. Historically the species was more widely distributed throughout the floodplain but now most of the population is confined to five wetlands in Anhui Province and to Poyang Lake in Jiangxi Province, where the majority (up to 113,000 birds) occur. Within-winter counts suggest that swans congregate at Poyang Lake before dispersing to other sites later in the winter. Counts show large between-year fluctuations, but suggest declines at Shengjin and Fengsha Lakes (both in Anhui) during the last five years. Declines at Shengjin Lake are likely due to decreases in submerged vegetation (particularly tuber-producing Vallisneria, a major food item) perhaps linked to eutrophication. Range contractions throughout the floodplain may also be linked to reductions in submerged vegetation coverage elsewhere. Changes in water quality and lake hydrology post-Three Gorges Dam may have adversely affected submerged vegetation productivity. Key information needs for the effective implementation of conservation measures for Tundra Swans include: (1) annual surveys of all major wintering sites throughout each winter to establish the importance of different sites during the non-breeding period; (2) more information on swan diets at important sites; and (3) an assessment of adverse effects of water quality and lake water levels post-Three Gorges Dam on submerged vegetation productivity at Poyang Lake and other important sites.

Traditional evaluation methods of the water quality parameters exist more deficiency. Entropy right process and fuzzy mathematics method are combined to establish an improved fuzzy synthetic evaluation method. Total phosphorus (TP)、total nitrogen (TN) and index of permanganate (CODMn) are selected as observed indicators in this paper. According to Mensal measured data of water quality at 5 points from 2008 and 2009 years, based on fuzzy synthetic evaluation method for water quality assessment analysed in Poyang lake. The assessment results showed that Water quality of measure stations in different water seasons changed to take turns: normal water season > flood season > dry season. the pollution`s degree at town`s stations was smaller than counties` stations, at which sample were affected greater by industry and agriculture, and we must pay attention to let contamination in counties.

It is great significance to forecast the water quality of Poyang Lake in the construction of Poyang Lake Ecological Economic Zone.On the condition of limited historical data, for resolving the prediction,by combining the advantages of both grey prediction and Markov theory,an improved grey-Markov model is established.First the sequence is moved average, and then unbiased grey-Markov prediction is established to imitate the development tendency of the forecast system.Divide system state into five parts by Markov chain in order to inprove the prediction accuracy. By analying an example, comparing the predicted values and real measured values,The results show that the model has a certain accuracy and reliability

AbstractStudies around Dongting Lake have indicated that the Three Gorges Project (TGP) has had a large effect on the structure of the small mammal community; however, few studies have analyzed this around Poyang Lake. To understand the status of the small mammal community around Poyang Lake, the lakeside farmland and beaches were surveyed in 2015 and 2016. The results showed the overall trap success was 10.12% on farmland and 5.47% on lake beaches, with five species of Rodentia and one species of Soricomorpha. The density of the small mammal was high, especially in rice fields.Apodemus agrariusandRattus loseawere the dominant species, representing 49.59% and 47.68% of the species composition on farmland. The dominant species on the beach area wereA. agrarius(66.01%) andR. losea(28.76%). The species abundance and diversity indexes of the small mammal community on beaches were similar to those on farmland. The widespread presence ofA. agrarius,R. losea, andRattus norvegicuson the beaches indicates the farmland community had migrated to the beach area. In conclusion, it is important to elucidate the succession of the small mammal community inhabiting the lake beaches in downstream areas to quantify the impact of the TGP.
