An optimization technique called shape-linked optimization, which is different from the traditional optimization method, is introduced in this paper. The research introduces an updated wing optimization design in an effort to adapt to continuous structure changes and shapes while optimizing for a lighter weight of the structure. The changing tendencies of the thickness of wing skins and the cross-section areas of the wing beams are fitted to continuous polynomial functions, whose coefficients are designed as variables, which is a different engineering approach from the size variants of the thickness and the area in the traditional optimization. The structural strength, stiffness, and stability are constraints. Firstly, this research unearths the significance of utilizing a modernized optimization process which alters the production of the traditional 12 or over 12 segment wing design and applies new approaches and methods with less variables that contribute to expedited design cycles, decreased engineering and manufacturing expenditures, and a lighter weight aircraft with lower operating costs than the traditional design for the operators. And then, this paper exemplifies and illustrates the validity of the above claims in a detailed and systematic approach by comparing traditional and modernized optimization applications with a two-beam wing. Finally, this paper also proves that the new optimized structure parameters are easier than the size optimization to process and manufacture.

In order to improve the dynamic performance of a truck dump mechanism, the optimal parameter combination of the dump mechanism is studied. In combination with Adams' own modeling work, the dump mechanism is simplified and modeled and simulated. The objective function is optimized with the minimum lifting force, and the parameter combination of the best position relationship of the dump mechanism is obtained. The simulation results show that Adams can accurately predict the optimal parameter combination of mechanical devices, which have certain reference value for engineering design.

Introduction. Сases of ineffective activation of automatic sprinkler fire-fighting systems (AFFS), designed pursuant to current standards, have made it necessary to address the following three issues: a) identification of reasons for ineffective activation; b) examination of AFFS systems to ensure their successful activation in case of fire; c) making a list of recommendations for AFFS designers. These issues can be resolved with reference to Appendix B to new SP (Construction Regulations) 485.13130.2020.Maximal critical height of sprinkler placement. Models of fire development were used to design the roof height limit and the AFFS bulb heating time. If the ceiling height exceeds the limit value, sprinklers cannot be activated in a timely manner. This leads to delays in the AFFS activation, and, as a result, the fire area exceeds the one safeguarded by the sprinkler.Acceptable sprinkler height. The analysis of fire scenarios and bulb heating models allows to more accurately project the feasibility of timely AFFS activation. This, in turn, allows to solve the three above listed problems.Using a differential heat detector to activate sprinklers. If it is established that the use of the AFFS, activating sprinklers by means of thermal destruction of a bulb, is ineffective in a given room, the feasibility of forced AFFS activation using a differential heat detector responding to the temperature rise in a room may be considered. The ratios, thus obtained, are applied to identify the acceptable height of premises protected by the AFFS equipped with such detectors. Problem solutions, including the identification of the reason for the ineffective operation of the AFFS, examination of the AFFS in operation, and provision of recommendations to designers, are demonstrated using the exhibition hall as an example.Conclusions. The above-mentioned problems are resolvable with the help of Appendix B to new Construction Regulations 485.13130.2020 and the above models.

For a lightweight space camera installed vertically with a satellite platform, due to the different conditions between ground and orbit, the relative deformation between the camera and the satellite platform results in a drift of the camera line of sight (LOS), which affects the imaging quality. This paper proposed an optimization method for the spaceborne connecting structure considering the camera LOS drift. By using a variable density topology optimization method, the configuration of the connecting structure was obtained. Based on the configuration, the sensitivity of its size parameters to the system’s performance was analyzed. Analysis data showed that the size parameters have an obvious influence on the camera LOS shift. In order to obtain the optimal combination of size parameters, a multi-objective parametric optimization model was established. Finally, engineering analysis of the optimized structure showed that the system performances meet the design requirements of the satellite, and the lightweight ratio of the connecting structure reaches 54%. This study provides a reference for the design of other similar structures for space cameras.

Fire prevention system of subway station plays an important role in ensuring passenger safety. The Shenyang Youth Street subway station fire prevention system safety was studied, applying performance-based fire protection design analysis method, using of FDS simulation software on the station fire prevention safety system for the calculation and analysis. Three working conditions were set when subway fire happens. Fire smoke flow characteristics and the distribution of temperature, CO concentration and visibility were analyzed and compared. The results show that the automatic sprinkler system and smoke control system have great effect on the preventing spread of fire. In the automatic sprinkler system and smoke control system conditions, fire hazards have not reached the standards of passengers tolerance.
