In this paper, using Matlab to solve Soave-Redlich-Kwong (SRK) EOS, as well as the estimation of pure component properties, plotting of vapor-liquid equilibrium (VLE) diagram and calculation of chemical equilibrium, is presented. First the SRK EOS is used to predict several pure-component properties, such as liquid and gas molar volumes for isobutane. The vapor-liquid isobaric diagram is then plotted for a binary mixture composed of n-pentane and n-hexane under the pressures of 1.5*10^5 and 7*10^5 Pa respectively. Finally, the extent of ammonia synthesis reaction under high pressure is calculated.

One of the most significant problems that belong to effective use of granular materials GM (for example, in the construction, pharmacological, chemical, agricultural and some other industries, as well as in the technologies of screening against internal radiation) is the difficulty of ensuring their maximum compaction in order to increase the efficiency of their practical application. In this way, we study of the properties of binary granular systems, the dynamics of their compaction and the impact on this process of the ratio of component sizes and partial parameters in order to provide an innovative step in the development of appropriate technologies. To this end, we propose to use the apparatus of Kirkwood-Buff theory in combination with model equations of state, like Carnahan-Starling, together with relevant phenomenological information, which obtained from direct observations. We report theoretically the fundamental possibility of increasing the degree and speed of packaging and at first describe substantiate empirical data in the full range of values of the volume (or molar) fraction.

The present study is on segregation of granular mixtures during heap formation in a quasi two-dimensional rectangular bin where binary mixture of a specified composition is poured intermittently into the auxiliary hopper and then allowed to pass through the gap (k = 10 mm) between the divider and the plate and finally settle on to the heap. The profiles of number fraction of big particles are plotted along the flow directions to study the segregation phenomena for surface profile. It shows that larger particles travel more distance and smaller particles settle near the pouring point for all cases studied.
