Introduction: The aim of this study is to explore the effectiveness of a training programme aimed at managing patients’ chronic pain in physiotherapy students in Spain. The programme addressed providing them with efficient skills to manage patients’ chronic pain from psychological flexibility (PF) perspective. Methods: The programme integrates communication skills training into PF-based training. It sought to contribute to better recognise the role of psychosocial factors in chronic pain and to better promote adherence to treatment. This is an observational study with a pre- and post-training programme design and a 2-month follow-up. A total of 35 physiotherapy students, divided into three groups, participated in a 10-hour training course. Training focused on three areas: (1) communication skills, (2) therapeutic adherence and (3) managing distress and pain. The three areas were addressed from the PF point of view. Impact of training was measured through standardised questionnaires that assessed attitudes towards chronic pain, an ad hoc questionnaire that assessed responses to difficult communicative situations and a training satisfaction scale. Results: Final analyses showed that attitudes changed significantly after training, biomedical attitude scores decreased and biopsychosocial attitude increased, while pain was considered less disabling, and informed empathic responses in communication situations increased. These changes were maintained at 2-month follow-up. Satisfaction with the training was high. Conclusion: We conclude that a brief training programme based on the PF model may help students develop a more comprehensive approach and improve their skills for managing chronic pain.

The empathic tendency, communication skills, and critical thinking are the professional attitude behaviors that should be in a physiotherapist. The study was planned to investigate the effects of creative drama on empathic tendencies, communication skills and critical thinking of physiotherapy students. This study was carried out in Hasan Kalyoncu University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation between October 2017 and December 2018. 75 freshman physiotherapy students (44 women, 31 men) were included in the study.  According to the results obtained from the study; there was no significant difference between empathic tendencies, communication skills and critical thinking skills of individuals in both groups (p> 0.05). When the creative drama group was compared in terms of gender, there was no significant difference between individuals' empathic tendencies, communication skills and critical thinking skills (p> 0.05). Similarly, when the control group was compared in terms of gender, there was no significant difference between individuals' empathic tendencies, communication skills and critical thinking skills (p> 0.05). We think that this study is a preliminary study on empathic tendencies, communication skills, and critical thinking skills of physiotherapy students. Parameters such as gender, different years of education, and welfare levels can affect empathic tendency, communication skills, and critical thinking skills. There are limited studies in the literature investigating the effectiveness of creative drama in the field of health. Therefore, this work can give an idea for subsequent studies. The studies that are conducted with more patients and which are multi-centered should be done.

Background- Due to the COVID-19 pandemic Indian governments had issued stay-at-home directives, and as a result, colleges and universities have been shut down across the world. The major response to the pandemic has been to try to move both teaching-learning and assessment lectures online. so, studying the student’s perception of virtual classes is a must to consider the views. This study is important because of the physiotherapy profession's practical and skill-based practice, it is vital that we not lose focus on the non-technical skills that are required for effective clinical practice. Methods- This is an observational study with a study duration was of 1 year. All physiotherapy students from DVVPF’S college of physiotherapy were recruited by purposive sampling method by using a google form. Result- Data has been summarized by using the descriptive analysis method. Our data showed that 108 undergraduate physiotherapy students answered the questionnaire. They shared their experiences about online classes as compared to offline classes. they shared firstly about communication skills. in online classes students experienced that it does provide a platform to improve communication skills most of the time, & sometimes challenges due to the online environment during an emergency may delay the adoption of technology-enabled education. some students have technophobia because of that they cannot communicate on online classes or they faced difficulties. Conclusion- Our study revealed that on basis of the experiences of physiotherapy students’ actual classes are much more efficient and productive as compared to virtual classes.
