SummaryBackround/Aim: Stafne bone cavity which is also known as lingual mandibular bone defect is generally seen in the posterior region of the mandible. Stafne bone defects of the anterior mandible are very rare, with around 50 cases reported in the English literature. They are generally asymptomatic and incidental lesion findings may be diagnosed during a radiographic examination.Case Report: A 59 year-old female patient was examined for dental complaints. Panoramic radiography revealed a unilocular lesion at the left incisor- premolar area. Dental volumetric tomography scans showed a concavity at the lingual side of the related area. Magnetic resonance imaging was suggested for possible soft tissue pathology and, depending on MRI finding, the cavity was initially diagnosed as Stafne bone defect. Conclusion: The aim of this case report is to describe an unusually located Stafne bone cavity with special emphasis to the need of using special imaging modalities.

This case report is of a 29-year-old male who complained of nasal escape of food and fluids through his nose for 6 months. Further questioning revealed a previous cocaine habit which has now ceased. Examination revealed a septal perforation and CT scanning revealed a 16 mm wide sagittal bone defect involving most of the hard palate as well as absence of the inferior half of the nasal septum. A diagnosis of septal perforation leading to an oro-naso-palatal fistula was made. This rather unusual presentation and clinical findings are discussed within this article. CPD/Clinical Relevance: The effects of cocaine misuse on the oral mucosa are presented.

Cholesterol Granulomas of the Maxillary Sinus, considered an unusual presentation at this anatomical site. Over last 2 decades, only few cases are reported in the literature (English) and no available comprehensive reviews or studies on this entity. Herein in this article we present a comprehensive literature review of the available reports of 16 cases along with reporting a new case which we managed, aided with its histopathological pictures. This review article can be a reference for practitioners in the field of otorhinolaryngology who may encounter these cases. Also, it attracts the attention to consider this pathology among the differential diagnoses of nasal masses. Moreover, including a described pathological imaging may help young pathologist to identify this pathology.
