The experimental results of multiplicity distributions of grey and relativistic shower particles emitted in the interactions of 28 Si and 12 C ions at 4.5 A GeV /c with nuclear emulsion are reported. The study of the multiplicity distributions of relativistic shower particles and medium energy target-associated protons produced in heavy-ion collisions seems to observe the semi-inclusive KNO scaling. A simplified universal function has been used to represent the experimental data.

Dileptons can be produced through the mechanism of virtual bremsstrahlung during the deceleration of nuclei in relativistic heavy-ion collisions. The dilepton spectrum is studied in the framework of second order perturbation theory. Coherence effects are found to enhance the contributions to pair emission through constructive interference, since the main deceleration of nuclear matter in these collisions takes place in a small space-time region. Differential and total probabilities for lepton pairs are calculated for central 238U + 238U collisions at energies of 15 GeV/N and 60 GeV/N. Whereas the antisymmetrization of the lepton states plays a non-negligible role for the differential probabilities, it is not significant for the total probability.
