The title compound, {[Co(H2O)6][Co(SO4)(C10H8N2)(H2O)3][Co(SO4)2(C10H8N2)(H2O)2]}n, contains three crystallographically unique CoIIcentres, all of which are in six-coordinated environments. One CoIIcentre is coordinated by two bridging 4,4′-bipyridine (4,4′-bipy) ligands, one sulfate ion and three aqua ligands. The second CoIIcentre is surrounded by two N atoms of two 4,4′-bipy ligands and four O atoms,i.e.two O atoms from two monodentate sulfate ions and two from water molecules. The third CoIIcentre forms part of a hexaaquacobalt(II) ion. In the crystal structure, there are two different one-dimensional chains, one being anionic and the other neutral, and adjacent chains are arranged in a cross-like fashion around the mid-point of the 4,4′-bipy ligands. The structure features O—H...O hydrogen-bonding interactions between sulfate anions and water molecules, resulting in a three-dimensional supramolecular network.

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, catena-poly[[[(1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane-κ4 N 1,N 4,N 8,N 11)nickel(II)]-μ-4,4′-(diphenylsilanediyl)dibenzoato-κ2 O:O′] sesquihydrate], {[Ni(C26H18O4Si)(C10H24N4)]·1.5H2O} n , consists of the halves of the centrosymmetric macrocyclic cation and the C 2-symmetric dicarboxylate dianion and of the water molecule of crystallization. The Ni2+ ion is coordinated by the four secondary N atoms of the macrocyclic ligand characterized by the most energetically favourable trans-III conformation and two mutually trans O atoms of the carboxylate, forming a slightly tetragonally elongated trans-N4O2 octahedron. The crystals are composed of parallel polymeric chains of the macrocyclic cations linked by the anions of the acid running along the [101] direction. Each polymeric chain is bonded to four neighbouring ones via water molecules providing O—H...O hydrogen bonds to the non-coordinated carboxyl O atoms to form a three-dimensional supramolecular network.

The crystal structure of the title compound {(C5H14N2)2[Cd2Cl8]} n , (I), consists of hydrogen-bonded 2-methylpiperazinediium (H2MPPA2+) cations in the presence of one-dimensional polymeric {[CdCl3(μ3-Cl)]2−} n anions. The CdII centres are hexacoordinated by three terminal chlorides and three bridging chlorides and have a slightly distorted octahedral CdCl3(μ3-Cl)3 arrangement. The alternating CdCl6 octahedra form four-membered Cd2Cl2 rings by the sharing of neighbouring Cd–Cl edges to give rise to extended one-dimensional ladder-like chains parallel to the b axis, with a Cd...Cd distance of 4.094 (2) Å and a Cd...Cd...Cd angle of 91.264 (8)°. The H2MPPA2+ cations crosslink the [CdCl3(μ3-Cl)] n chains by the formation of two N—H...Cl hydrogen bonds to each chain, giving rise to one-dimensional ladder-like H2MPPA2+–Cl2 hydrogen-bonded chains [graph set R 4 2(14)]. The [CdCl3(μ3-Cl)] n chains are interwoven with the H2MPPA2+–Cl2 hydrogen-bonded chains, giving rise to a three-dimensional supramolecular network.

The asymmetric unit of the title salt [systematic name: 2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)ethanaminium nitrate], C8H12NO2+·NO3−, contains two independent cations and two independent nitrate anions. The crystal structure consists of discrete nitrate ions stacked in layers parallel to (010). These layers are linkedviathe dopaminium cations by O—H...O, N—H...O and weak C—H...O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional supramolecular network.

In the title solvated molecular salt, 2C4H12N5+·CO32−·2CH3OH, the complete carbonate ion is generated by crystallographic twofold symmetry, with the C atom and one O atom lying on the rotation axis. The cation is twisted about the central C—N bond [C—N—C—N = −137.7 (6)°]. In the crystal, the components are linked by N—H...O, N—H...N and O—H...O hydrogen bonds, generating a three-dimensional supramolecular network.

In the title polymeric complex, {[Fe(C12H10N2)2(H2O)4](CH3C6H4SO3)2·2CH3OH}n, the FeIIcation, located on an inversion centre, is coordinated by four water molecules in the equatorial positions and two 1,2-bis(pyridin-4-yl)ethene molecules in the axial positions. This results in a distorted octahedral geometry for the [N2O4] coordination polyhedron. The 1,2-bis(pyridin-4-yl)ethene molecules bridge the FeIIcations, forming polymeric chains running along thea-axis direction. Stabilization of the crystal structure is provided by O—H...O hydrogen bonds; these are formed by coordinated water molecules as donors towards the O atoms of the methanol molecules and tosylate anions as acceptors of protons, leading to the formation of a three-dimensional supramolecular network. Weak C—H...O hydrogen bonds are also observed in the crystal.

The title complex, [Co(C7H7N4O2)2(H2O)4], comprises mononuclear molecules consisting of a CoIIion, two deprotonated theophylline ligands (systematic name: 1,3-dimethyl-7H-purine-2,6-dione) and four coordinating water molecules. The CoIIatom lies on an inversion centre and has a slightly distorted octahedral coordination environment, with two N atoms of twotrans-oriented theophylline ligands and the O atoms of four water molecules. An intramolecular hydrogen bond stabilizes this conformation. A three-dimensional supramolecular network structure is formed by intermolecular O—H...O and O—H...N hydrogen bonds.

To investigate the interactions between noncovalent bond donor and acceptor giving rise to three dimensional networks, compound [Pb2(dmp)2(hfacac)2] (1) (dmp = 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-henanthroline and Hhfacac = hexafluoroacetylacetonate) has been prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, IR,1H NMR, and13C NMR spectroscopy and its crystal structures was investigated. The single crystal structure show the coordination number of Pb(II) to be eight with twoN-donor atoms from a “dmp” ligand and sixO-donors from the anionic ligands. The supramolecular structure of 1 is realized by weak directional C–H∙∙∙O–C, C–F∙∙∙F–C andπ–πstacking interactions.
