Y-Type rolling mill with three roller is a new kind of wire mill.The three-dimensional models of rolling are established by Pro/E. Based on the finite element analysis software ANSYS/LS-DYNA, the rolling process of wire by Y-type rollers is simulated. The rolling piece movement is analysed. Stress and strain of Y-type roller are also analysed.

The paper is to study the working device of rough terrain forklift, carried out forces analysis on a typical three section telescopic boom, results indicated that the boom working in the lowest position is the most dangerous situation, Adopted the CAD software of SolidWorks to build the three dimensional models of telescopic boom, then used the FEA component of SolidWorks Simulation to carried out finite element analysis(FEA) for the working device, obtained FEA results. By the use of comparing the stress testing results with the finite element analysis results, certificated that the finite element analysis models are reasonable and the finite element method by Simulation is feasible and reliable. All of these works have very important reference value for designing and optimization of the telehandler in the future.

By means of comparing results from finite element analysis and photoelasticity, the salient characteristics of a finite element model of a nut and bolt have been established. A number of two-dimensional and three-dimensional models were created with varying levels of complexity, and the results were compared with photoelastic results. It was found that both two-dimensional and three-dimensional models could produce accurate results provided the nut thread run-out and friction were modeled accurately. When using two-dimensional models, a number of models representing different positions around the helix of the thread were created to obtain more data for the stress distribution. This approach was found to work well and to be economical.

Three dimensional models and finite element models of conductor clamps are built in software Solidworks and Abaqus. Different forces are loaded on finite element model of conductor clamps to obtain distributions of stress and displacement. Optimal design of conductor clamps is performed with finite element analysis and field test data. The results show that optimal design scheme achieves optimal target.

This chapter discusses the simulation of solar photovoltaic thermal modules of planar and concentrator structures in computer-aided design systems KOMPAS 3D and finite element analysis ANSYS. To create photovoltaic thermal modules, a method for designing their three-dimensional models in the computer-aided design system has been developed. To study the thermal regimes of the created three-dimensional models of modules, a method has been developed for visualizing thermal processes, coolant velocity, and flow lines of a cooling agent in a finite element analysis system. As a result of calculations in the finite element analysis system using the developed method, conclusions can be drawn about the feasibility of the design created with its further editing, visualization of thermal fields, and current lines of the radiator cooling agent. As an illustration of the simulation results, a three-dimensional model of a photovoltaic thermal planar roofing panel and an optimized three-dimensional model of a photodetector of a solar concentrator photovoltaic thermal module are presented.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the stress distribution in the bone adjacent to submerged implants during masticatory function in conventional complete dentures with different soft liners through finite element analysis. Three-dimensional models of a severely resorbed mandible with 2 and 4 submerged implants in the anterior region were created and divided into the following situations: (1) conventional complete dentures (control group); and conventional complete dentures with different soft liner materials, (2) Coe-Comfort, (3) Softliner, and (4) Molteno Hard. The models were exported to mechanical simulation software and 2 simulations were done with the load in the inferior right canine (35 N) and the inferior right first molar (50 N). The data were qualitatively evaluated using the maximum principal stress and microstrain values given by the software. The use of soft liners provides decreased levels of stress and microstrains in peri-implant bone when the load was applied to canine teeth. Considering all of the values obtained in this study, the use of softer materials is the most suitable for use during the period of osseointegration.
