The aim of the study was to explore the experiences of Australian public and private patients undergoing gynaecological day surgery in a public hospital. A telephone survey was conducted with 315 women within two days of hospital discharge. The findings indicate that patients generally favour the "in and out" experience of day surgery, with some reservations. Prior to hospital admission, private patients were less likely to have access to multiple sources of information as well as information that they found easy to understand. Alternative means of supporting women recovering from day surgery may be needed for those whose family members and/or friends cannot provide sufficient support following discharge. This study contributes to discussion on setting objective standards to evaluate the health system in the field of day surgery.

Oroantral communication (OAC) is one of the main complications of extracting antral or sinus teeth. OAC is a gap between the maxillary sinus and the oral cavity. When left untreated, it causes maxillary sinusitis and dramatically impairs the patient’s quality of life. Numerous surgical treatment techniques have been described, from mucosal techniques to using bone substitutes or very conservative alternative means. Many cases of recurrence after treatment have been reported, and the choice of the method adapted to the clinical situation remains challenging. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a correct diagnosis and choose the surgical technique best adapted to the case. This work is aimed at reviewing several techniques for the treatment of OAC and at describing our recommendations for use in daily practice for each of them through four clinical cases.

With the aim of improving the citizens quality of life; the study, design anddevelopment of smart cities have been worked in different parts of the world andColombia is not excluded. Accordingly, this document presents the advances in theimplementation of a platform prototype for joining smart developments in some universities from Bogotá-Colombia. First of all, some aspects to consider in the development of a Smart City are presented. Later, the importance of virtual environments and noise studies, the drain gratings to avoid flooding by rain and the use of the bicycle as an alternative means of transport is also shown.

The Libyan air transport system plays a crucial role in the transportation of people across the nation; it also contributes in minimizing traffic congestion and accidents on intercity highways. The air system seems to deliver secured and comfortable transportation, as against the other alternative means, such as bus. Nevertheless, still the Libyan air transport system needs to improve in certain aspects to better serve the needs of its consumers. In this context, we believe that, it is essential to pay attention to 'service quality', which could make this mode of travel the preferred choice to local, as well as international travelers. Consequently, the purpose of this study is to assess service quality of the air transport system, measure the levels of service quality, and also gauge the quality of the factors, impacting the current service delivery in the air transport in Libya, using Importance-Satisfaction Analysis (ISA). It is noteworthy that, this study is the first of its kind in Libya, as it has examined the satisfaction of customers with the service delivery of the domestic airline. For this purpose, the self-administered questionnaire was personally distributed to the target population of domestic air travelers within Libya. We have used a stratified sampling procedure in this research; the final research sample consisted of 312 participants. Ultimately, several possible corrective actions to improve the quality of services of the airline, with each critical item were highlighted.

Factors affecting the feasibility of water reclamation and reuse in an urban environment are discussed with special focus on reclaimed water quality and reuse applications. Water supplied to a city undergoes only small changes in quality and thus becomes a valuable resource ready for reuse and under local control. Successful development of water reuse must take into consideration technical, financial and social aspects. The quality of the reclaimed water must be matched to its intended use and alternative means of its distribution should be considered. Regional population growth patterns and their influence on economic feasibility of water reuse are examined.

Abstract The present study aimed to identify, describe and analyze the achievement goals of 207 high school students in a city in São Paulo state. The instruments were the Characterization Questionnaire and Achievement Goals Questionnaire. The results indicate a major tendency to adopt the mastery-approach goal, where the student engages the activity with the purpose of developing their skills. The second more adopted goal was performance-avoidance goal, in which students tend to want to show their skills to others not to appear incompetent for them. These results above may be related to a great intension of students in completing the high school and enter the University, results also found in this study. Comprehend Achievement Goals can contribute to understanding the quality of motivation that the students apply in their activities.

The purpose of the current study was to provide insights in how and why four head coaches in elite football experienced being either high or low in burnout symptoms (BS) during a competitive season. A longitudinal sequential quantitative-qualitative mixed method approach was used to enhance the understanding of coaches’ experiences. First, data were collected using online questionnaires at the start and at the end of the competitive season with all coaches working at the Norwegian Elite Football League level. Second, in-depth interviews were conducted with four head coaches who were purposefully selected based on having the two highest and the two lowest burnout scores across the season compared with the overall sample. A quantitative approach was used to explore whether these four coaches differed when compared with the overall population on the associated variables: performance, budget, quality of motivation, perceived workload, work-home-interference (WHI), and recovery. A qualitative approach helped gain more insight in the experiences these four coaches had with possible onset variables. Analyses comparing the two sets of coaches, indicated no difference related to performance, budget and workload. However, the motivational profile, WHI, and ability to meet recovery demands were variables that contributed to explain differences in coaches’ BS.
