Seismic performance is basically required in precast shear wall. This study focuses on evaluation and improvement on precast shear wall seismic performance. By carrying out the finite-element simulation on a precast shear wall spatial model with new connector from a practical high-rise precast residential building, which was named as NPGCS and experimentally tested by low-cyclic reversed lateral loads in early studies, the performance results including strengths, stiffness, stress, and concrete damage ratio distributions were obtained, and the reliability of NPGCS spatial model was verified. According to the testing results, the finite-element simulation for the NPGCS spatial model is reliable and relatively accurate, especially for applying contact and beam elements into numerical analysis of precast interfaces and dowel shear actions, respectively. The strengths, stiffness, stress, and concrete damage ratio distributions from the simulation also supported the experimental results and conclusions.

The Finite Element Analysis

To reduce the construction cost of the domestic promotion of the new prefabricated concrete shear wall structure system which is promoted in our country. To analyze the factors which can affect the load-carrying capacity and seismic performance of shear wall, including the axial compression ratio, the concrete strength, the reinforcement ratio and some other factors. Among all these factors, the axial compression ratio is the main factor influencing the seismic performance and the section ductility [1]. This paper adopts the ANSYS finite element analysis program, operating a nonlinear analysis on the performance of the precast shear wall when it is with one-way loading, studying the axial compression ratio's effect on the bearing capacity and deformability of the precast shear wall. According to the finite element analysis, when the axial compression ratio is between 0.2 to 0.4 and as it rises, the specimen's bearing capacity and stiffness will increases while deformability and ductility will decrease. Through the finite element analysis, we can provide reliable theory basis for the performance of the precast shear wall when it is with one-way loading.

The seismic performance of the precast shear wall was improved by using a newly developed reinforced tenon to strengthen the precast joint, which is used to bear the shear force of the precast joint and reduce the effect of dowel action on the vertical connecting steel bars. The vertical connecting steel bars were only used to bear tensile and compressive stress and consume seismic energy. The seismic performance of reinforced tenon precast shear wall was investigated by quasi-static tests on one reinforced tenon precast shear wall specimen and one ordinary flat seam precast shear wall specimen. This study investigated the crack distribution and failure modes, precast joint slip of the two specimens, and the seismic performance parameters such as bearing capacity, stiffness degradation, ductility performance and energy dissipation capacity. The test results demonstrated that the reinforced tenon effectively reduced the slip of the joint surface and exhibited good ductility and energy dissipation capacity than that of the ordinary flat seam specimen, while the failure mode, bearing capacity, and stiffness were similar to that of the flat seam specimen.
