A new approach to the synthesis of mixed-type immobilized catalysts by frontal polymerization of metal-containing monomer in the presence of highly dispersed mineral support has been developed. Synthesis of the acrylamide Pd(II) nitrate complex, Pd(CH2=CHCONH2)2 (NO3)2 (PdAAm), on the SiO2 (Al2O3, C) surface and its consequent frontal polymerization and reduction lead to the formation of organic-inorganic composites with polymer-stabilized Pd nanoparticles. The immobilized metal complexes and palladium nanoparticles were characterized by various physical and chemical methods. The synthesized hybrid nanocomposites are efficient and selective catalysts for hydrogenation of cyclohexene, alkene, and acetylene alcohols, as well as di- and trinitrotoluene. Catalyst intermediates separated by nondestructive testing method have been described and changing in the palladium charge during the catalytic process has been identified.

Chemical functionalization has demonstrated to be a powerful approach to tailor the physical and chemical properties of two-dimensional (2D) materials, to increase their processability and

stability, to add new functionalities and, even, to create new 2D materials. However, this post synthetic method – which involves the anchoring of molecules on the surface of an exfoliated 2D crystal – inevitably leads to defective materials, which lack long-range structural order. If defect-free functionalized monolayers are required, a radically new approach needs to be developed. Here we present a pre-synthetic method based on coordination chemistry that affords the isolation of crystalline functionalized monolayers. This involves functionalization of the ligand prior to the formation of the 2D material. The concept is illustrated using layered coordination polymers formed by reacting various benzimidazole derivatives with ferrocene. This surface tuneability, together with the robust magnetic and mechanical properties of these 2D materials, make them exceptional candidates for studying the magnetism in the 2D limit, as well as for developing membranes for selective molecular sensing.

The recent observation of room temperature tunneling magnetoresistance (TMR) in half-metallic A2FeMoO6 (A = Ca, Sr, Ba) double perovskites, and their importance to the emerging field of spintronics has led to considerable effort being dedicated to detailed investigations of the physical and chemical properties of these materials. This article will present an review of our recent investigations covering the synthesis, structures, magnetic and transport properties of "bulrush-like" A2FeMoO6 (A = Sr, Ba). Utilizing the high shape anisotropy as well as the reactivity of A2FeMoO6 to water and a sonochemical technique, we managed to manipulate the properties of grain boundary barriers, and thus put forward a new approach for the enhancement of room temperature TMR. The magnetocaloric effects of A2FeMoO6 double perovskites will also be discussed.

The present work deals with the identification of new approach towards the lead generation in medicinal chemistry and authenticating the reports present on the use of this Sudanese medicinal plant Solenostemma argel in the tribal region of Sudan. The pharmacognostic screening showed its physical and chemical composition with identification of active ingredients. The antioxidant activity was carried out by DPPH and nitric oxide scavenging method. In which ethanolic leaf extract showed prominent response which may be due to the promising presence of flavonoids and related poly phenolic compounds in it
