The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic that developed in late 2019 and early 2020 has caused thousands of deaths and has had an enormous impact on our health systems and economies. Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) complications include disseminated coagulation and thrombosis, but, to the best of our knowledge, the literature to date on these manifestations has been limited. Herein, we report an unusual presentation in a 43-year-old man with a medical history of diabetes and hypertension who presented with dyspnoea and acute pain in his right leg and was found to have acute limb ischaemia and diabetic ketoacidosis. Our case adds to the literature regarding arterial thrombosis in COVID-19.

Space Medicine has grown in parallel to Space Exploration since the second half of the 20th century. Surgery and anesthesia procedures with a special focus on acute surgical conditions management have been investigated and/or performed on animal models and astronauts/cosmonauts. Although total anesthesia has been successfully performed on animal models it is considered of high risk for humans and regional anesthesia techniques have been the method of choice so far. The history of surgery and anesthesia in Space has expanded the limits of these fields and is expected to skyrocket their conjugation with modern technology such as 3D printing.

The attempts to reconstruct the instruments of interbudget relations take place in all federations. In Russia such attempts are especially popular due to the short history of intergovernmental relations. Thus the review of the ¬international experience of managing interbudget relations to provide economic and social welfare can be useful for present-day Russia. The author develops models of intergovernmental relations from the point of view of making decisions about budget authorities’ distribution. The models that can be better applied in the Russian case are demonstrated.
