Microstructure And Magnetic Properties

A two-step solvothermal method was employed to synthesize the Graphene/Fe3O4/BaTiO3(GFT). X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Raman spectra are used to observe the microstructure and magnetic properties of GFT, and the nanoparticles of Fe3O4and BaTiO3were uniformly deposited on the surface of the graphene nanosheets. Then GFT filler and the silicone rubber were mixed to manufacture the electromagnetic shielding materials. The vector network analyzer was employed to evaluate the electromagnetic shielding effectiveness of the modified electromagnetic shielding materials. The influence of the mole ratio of the GFT constituents, the mass content of the filler on the electromagnetic shielding effectiveness was studied between 1 GHz and 20 GHz. It is shown that the GFT/silicone rubber has the best electromagnetic shielding effectiveness for 24:1:1 of graphene: Fe3O4: BaTiO3and 16 % GFT.

This study aims to prepare a structurally and functionally integrated polyetheretherketone/multi-wall carbon nanotubes (PEEK/MWCNTs) electromagnetic shielding composites by sandwich structure. The PEEK ultra-fine powder and MWCNTs mixed by mechanical blending were selected as the core-layer and PEEK-based film acted as the surface-layer. The results indicate that the electromagnetic shielding effectiveness (SE) and mechanical properties of the composites can be controlled by adjusting the ratio of PEEK which was chosen as the binder in the core-layer, the number of the core-layer and the composition of the surface-layer without sacrificing their thermal stability. Moreover, the specific electromagnetic shielding effectiveness (SSE), electrical conductivity, tensile strength and temperature of 5% weight loss (Td5%) of the optimized PEEK/MWCNTs composite reach 79.5 dB/mm, 1.8 S/cm, 93 MPa and 594°C, respectively. The performances of the above composite are obviously superior to those of the recently reported EMI composites. The improvements in the properties should be mainly attributed to the two factors: the dense conductive network formed by MWCNTs in the core-layer, and the good interface adhesion between MWCNTs-MWCNTs in the core-layer as well as between the core-layer and the surface-layer.

According to the results, when low melting polyester fiber increased to be 20%, the electromagnetic shielding/ far infrared ray nonwoven obtained the optimum burst strength, maximum breaking force and maximum tear strength, and they were as follows: burst strength was 4.2 kgf/cm2; maximum breaking force was 153.59 N in the cross machine direction and 70.80 N in the machine direction; maximum tear strength was 215.77 N in cross machine direction and 117.07 N in machine direction; and optimum electromagnetic shielding effectiveness (EMSE) was 45 dB.
