The possibility of occurrence of the excitonic  quasimolecule formed of spatially separated electrons and holes in a nanosystem that consists  of  CuO quantum dots synthesized in a silicate glass matrix. It is shown that the major contribution to the excitonic quasimolecule binding energy is made by the energy of the exchange interaction of electrons with holes and this contribution is much more substantial than the contribution of the energy of Coulomb interaction between the electrons and holes.

By using the numerical discretization method within the effective-mass approximation, we have theoretically investigated the exciton-related Raman scattering, interband absorption and photoluminescence in colloidal CdSe/CdS core/shell quantum dots ensemble. The interband optical absorption and photoluminescence spectra have been revealed for CdSe/CdS quantum dots, taking into account the size dispersion of the ensemble. Numerical calculation of the differential cross section has been presented for the exciton-related Stokes–Raman scattering in CdSe/CdS quantum dots ensemble with different mean sizes.

We here report the temperature effect on photoluminescence(PL) spectra of PbSe quantum dots (QDs), which exhibit a strong temperature dependence on their spectra position and intensity. They potentially act as the temperature marker, sensing temperature variations and reporting temperature changes remotely through optical readout. In addition, the temperature sensitivity characterized by peak position of PbSe QDs was found to be 0.39nm/°C in a range of 10-100 °C.
