The value of protein culture of soy, the universality of its use is shown. The ways of increasing soy production in Ukraine are considered. To the State Register of plant varieties, suitable for distribution, a significant number of various soybean varieties are listed in Ukraine, most of which have a narrow ecological-geographical adaptation. In modern conditions, the soybean must be highly productive, adaptive, with a high level of resistance to biotic and abiotic environmental factors. Based on long-term practical experience in soybean selection, the hybridization of sources of adaptability to stress factors of the environment resulted in a variety with a higher base potential. Aquamarine variety, entered in the State Register of plant varieties, is suitable for distribution in Ukraine. The morphological and biological characteristics of the variety are given.

Many hydrogeological researches exist on the thermal springs of Turkey but limnological researches are very deficient. The results of the limnological research of the thermal springs in the basin of the meromictic lake Köyceğiz and Dalaman Basin are as follows; the thermal springs are of euthermal or chliarothermal types. In the thermal springs thermotolerant diatoms constituted the major plankton flora. Recommendations for the protection of thermal springs are given according to the results of this research.

The article provides an overview of domestic and foreign studies on the apricot cultivation, its national economic significance, the spread of culture abroad and on the Russian Federation territory. The role of positive and negative temperatures, precipitation on the condition of fruit trees, the safety of generative buds, yield and quality of fruits is considered. Special attention is paid to the work of plant breeders of fruit growing and vegeculture department of Voronezh State Agricultural University to make large-fruited, winter-hardy apricot varieties, enhanced studying of their biological characteristics and suitability for cultivation in the conditions of the Voronezh region. An agro-ecological justification of apricot cultivation in industrial gardens is also given. The agro-climatic conditions of the Voronezh Region and certain territories: the southern, central and northern parts are studied. The areas with soil and climatic conditions for the apricot cultivation on an industrial scale are identified. The possible reasons causing the death of apricot generative buds in winter are determined: a decrease in air temperature to -30 ° C with a rate of decline of 5 ºС per hour and prolonged thaws and sudden changes in air temperature to -28 ° C The southern regions are less favorable for fruiting apricot, because of spring frosts. According to long-term data, the correlation between yield and environmental factors has been revealed using the example of Apricot cultivar Triumf northern. The dependence of flowering and fruiting on the complex influence of negative weather manifestations in the spring and winter periods has been determined. The favorable areas, whose conditions correspond to the biological characteristics of apricot cultivars of Voronezh State Agricultural University selection, have been identified. Based on statistical calculations, mathematical models were obtained and it is possible to predict the apricot yield, depending on the combination of environmental factors with a high degree of accuracy.

The influence of the type of plantings and design features of flower modules on the biological characteristics and decorativeness of the most common annual flower crops is studied. A reliable influence of environmental factors, genotype of the studied plants on the studied characteristics and decorative planting was observed. The growth and development of plants in various types of planting: flower modules, balcony boxes, hanging baskets, raised flower beds framed by retaining walls and open ground flower beds under conditions of private landholding are analyzed. For gardening containers and raised flower beds in private and small gardens, 13 promising annual flower crops are recommended.

AbstractReductionist thinking in neuroscience is manifest in the widespread use of animal models of neuropsychiatric disorders. Broader investigations of diverse behaviors in non-model organisms and longer-term study of the mechanisms of plasticity will yield fundamental insights into the neurobiological, developmental, genetic, and environmental factors contributing to the “massively multifactorial system networks” which go awry in mental disorders.

Abstract The global prevalence of obesity has been rising at an alarming rate, accompanied by an increase in both childhood and maternal obesity. The concept of metabolic programming is highly topical, and in this context, describes a predisposition of offspring of obese mothers to the development of obesity independent of environmental factors. Research published in this issue of Clinical Science conducted by Litzenburger and colleagues (Clin. Sci. (Lond.) (2020) 134, 921–939) have identified sex-dependent differences in metabolic programming and identify putative signaling pathways involved in the differential phenotype of adipose tissue between males and females. Delineating the distinction between metabolically healthy and unhealthy obesity is a topic of emerging interest, and the precise nature of adipocytes are key to pathogenesis, independent of adipose tissue volume.

The World Health Organization's (WHO's) 2001 International Classification of Functioning Disability and Health (ICF) has as one of its central tenets the full inclusion of persons with disabilities in society. It acknowledges the need for medical and rehabilitation intervention in its biopscychosocial framework. However, the WHO realizes that society must do its part to facilitate this full participation and empowerment. Persons with complex communication needs (PWCCN) often need augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) in order to express themselves. However, in order to access and successfully use AAC, PWCCN need access to the necessary AAC devices and services, as well as a willing society to interact with them as full contributing members of society. The factors outside of a person's specific physical and/or cognitive functional limitations are addressed in the ICF via the Personal and Environmental Factors. Personal Factors include the individual's personality traits, lifestyle, experiences, social/educational/professional background, race, gender, and age. Environmental Factors include community support systems, social service agencies, governments, social networks, and those persons that interact with the PWCCN. This article addresses the sociopolitical influences on PWCCN and their functioning from a human rights perspective. The necessary introspective role of speech-language pathologists in this process is explored.
