Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA) has achieved a major role in the non-invasive study of the intra and extracranial cerebral vessels. In the vascular occlusion pathology of brain, MRA with 3D-time-of-flight technique is particularly useful. The modern approach to stroke makes provision for MRA because of the complete management of the patient. Recently the development of the variable flip, angle (TONE) and magnetisation transfer contrast techniques (MTC) have improved spatial resolution. MRA is particularly useful in the management of children with vascular pathology because of laminar flow which permits better visualization of small vessels. Only a wide knowledge of MRA and its limits and artifacts can reduce diagnostic errors.
