Motivated by developing algorithms that decide hypertranscendence of solutions of extensions of the Bessel differential equation, algorithms computing the unipotent radical of a parameterized differential Galois group have been recently developed. Extensions of Bessel’s equation, such as the Lommel equation, can be viewed as homogeneous parameterized linear differential equations of the third order. In this paper, we give the first known algorithm that calculates the differential Galois group of a third-order parameterized linear differential equation.

This paper presents a simple and efficient method for determining the rational solution of Riccati differential equation with coefficients rational. In case the differential Galois group of the differential equation , is reducible, we look for the rational solutions of Riccati differential equation , by reducing the number of checks to be made and by accelerating the search for the partial fraction decomposition of the solution reserved for the poles of which are false poles of . This partial fraction decomposition of solution can be used to code . The examples demonstrate the effectiveness of the method.

This paper is an overview of our works that are related to investigations of the integrability of natural Hamiltonian systems with homogeneous potentials and Newton's equations with homogeneous velocity independent forces. The two types of integrability obstructions for these systems are presented. The first, local ones, are related to the analysis of the differential Galois group of variational equations along a non-equilibrium particular solution. The second, global ones, are obtained from the simultaneous analysis of variational equations related to all particular solutions belonging to a certain class. The marriage of these two types of the integrability obstructions enables to realize the classification programme of all integrable homogeneous systems. The main steps of the integrability analysis for systems with two and more degrees of freedom as well as new integrable systems are shown.

We apply the difference-differential Galois theory developed by Hardouin and Singer to compute the differential-algebraic relations among the solutions to a second-order homogeneous linear difference equation [Formula: see text] where the coefficients [Formula: see text] are rational functions in [Formula: see text] with coefficients in [Formula: see text]. We develop algorithms to compute the difference-differential Galois group associated to such an equation, and show how to deduce the differential-algebraic relations among the solutions from the defining equations of the Galois group.
