We show that the two-dimensional gravity coupled to c=−2 matter field in Polyakov’s light-cone gauge has a twisted N=2 superconformal algebra. We also show that the BRST cohomology in the light-cone gauge actually coincides with that in the conformal gauge. Based on this observation the relations between the topological algebras are discussed.

In this paper, we introduce two kinds of Lie conformal algebras, associated with the loop Schrödinger–Virasoro Lie algebra and the extended loop Schrödinger–Virasoro Lie algebra, respectively. The conformal derivations, the second cohomology groups of these two conformal algebras are completely determined. And nontrivial free conformal modules of rank one and [Formula: see text]-graded free intermediate series modules over these two conformal algebras are also classified in the present paper.

It has long been known that two-point functions of conformal field theory (CFT) are nothing but the integral kernels of intertwining operators for two equivalent representations of conformal algebra. Such intertwining operators are known to fulfill some operator identities — the intertwining relations — in the representation space of conformal algebra. Meanwhile, it has been known that the S-matrix operator in scattering theory is nothing but the intertwining operator between the Hilbert spaces of in- and out-particles. Inspired by this algebraic resemblance, in this paper, we develop a simple Lie-algebraic approach to momentum-space two-point functions of thermal CFT living on the hyperbolic space–time [Formula: see text] by exploiting the idea of Kerimov’s intertwining operator approach to exact S-matrix. We show that in thermal CFT on [Formula: see text], the intertwining relations reduce to certain linear recurrence relations for two-point functions in the complex momentum space. By solving these recurrence relations, we obtain the momentum-space representations of advanced and retarded two-point functions as well as positive- and negative-frequency two-point Wightman functions for a scalar primary operator in arbitrary space–time dimension [Formula: see text].

We study string propagation in an anisotropic, cosmological background. We solve the equations of motion and the constraints by performing a perturbative expansion of the string coordinates in powers if c2 — the worldsheet speed of light. To zeroth order the string is approximated by a tensionless string (since c is proportional to the string tension T). We obtain exact, analytical expressions for the zeroth- and first-order solutions and we discuss some cosmological implications.

Based on the definition of vertex coalgebra introduced by Hubbard, 2009, we prove that this notion can be reformulated using coskew symmetry, coassociator and cocommutator formulas without restrictions on the grading. We also prove that a vertex coalgebra can be defined in terms of dual versions of the axioms of Lie conformal algebra and differential algebra.
