Abstract We study Higgs boson production associated with single top or anti-top via t-channel weak boson exchange at the LHC. The process is an ideal probe of the top quark Yukawa coupling, because we can measure the relative phase of htt and hWW couplings, thanks to the significant interference between the two amplitudes. By choosing the emitted W momentum along the polar axis in the th ($$ \overline{t}h $$ t ¯ h ) rest frame, we obtain the helicity amplitudes for all the contributing subprocesses analytically, with possible CP phase of the Yukawa coupling. We study the azimuthal asymmetry between the W emission and the Wb ($$ \overline{b} $$ b ¯ ) → t($$ \overline{t} $$ t ¯ ) h scattering planes, as well as several t and $$ \overline{t} $$ t ¯ polarization asymmetries as a signal of CP violating phase in the htt coupling. Both the azimuthal asymmetry and the polarization perpendicular to the scattering plane are found to have the opposite sign between the top and anti-top events. We identify the origin of the sign of asymmetries, and propose the possibility of direct CP violation test in pp collisions by comparing the top and anti-top polarization at the LHC.

The left–right twin Higgs (LRTH) model predicts the existence of the charged Higgs ϕ±. In this paper, we study the production of the charged Higgs boson ϕ- with single top quark via the process bg → tϕ- at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The numerical results show that the production cross-section can reach the level of 10 pb in the reasonable parameter space of the LRTH model. We expect that, as long as it is not too heavy, the possible signatures of the heavy charged Higgs boson ϕ-> might be detected via the decay mode [Formula: see text] at the LHC experiments.

The impact of anomalous Wtb couplings on tWb process of the single top quark production has been probed in different schemes of tWb modeling. A special attention devotes to influence of the particular schemes to the anomalous couplings sensitivity. The distributions of representative variables demonstrate different behaviour in different simulation schemes, therefore the correct probe for anomalous Wtb couplings require specific approach to simulate BSM contribution. Special approach to search for BSM contribution in the off-shell tWb process is proposed in this paper. The approach is based on the kinematic separation of the double and single resonant contributions by means of neural network. The specific BSM properties are considered separately for the double and single resonant events. Such approach allows to add information on the anomalous Wtb coupling from simultaneous consideration of the tt¯ (double resonant) and tWb (off-shell, single resonant) contribution of tWb processes and therefore can improve the sensitivity to the anomalous Wtb couplings.

We consider the production of a single top quark in association with a W boson at LHeC based γp collider. We compute the cross-section for the process γp→WtX with the anomalous Wtb and Wtbγ couplings. We find that the sensitivities to anomalous couplings of top quark are shown to be comparable, even better than the ones obtained from direct searches at hadron colliders.

I present high-order calculations, including soft-gluon corrections, for single-top and top-antitop production cross sections and differential distributions. For single-top production, results are presented for the three different channels in the Standard Model, for associated production with a charged Higgs, and for processes involving anomalous couplings. For top-antitop pair production, total cross sections and top-quark transverse-momentum and rapidity distributions are presented for various LHC energies.
