Abstract In this paper we relate the parity-odd part of two and three point correlation functions in theories with exactly conserved or weakly broken higher spin symmetries to the parity-even part which can be computed from free theories. We also comment on higher point functions.The well known connection of CFT correlation functions with de-Sitter amplitudes in one higher dimension implies a relation between parity-even and parity-odd amplitudes calculated using non-minimal interactions such as $$ {\mathcal{W}}^3 $$ W 3 and $$ {\mathcal{W}}^2\tilde{\mathcal{W}} $$ W 2 W ˜ . In the flat-space limit this implies a relation between parity-even and parity-odd parts of flat-space scattering amplitudes.

Tree-level gluon scattering amplitudes in Yang-Mills theory frequently display simple mathematical structure which is completely obscure in the calculation of Feynman diagrams. We describe a novel way of calculating these amplitudes, motivated by a conjectured relation to twistor space, in which the problem of summing Feynman diagrams is replaced by the problem of solving a certain set of algebraic equations.

Abstract Motivated by reformulating Yangian invariants in planar $$ \mathcal{N} $$ N = 4 SYM directly as d log forms on momentum-twistor space, we propose a purely algebraic problem of determining the arguments of the d log’s, which we call “letters”, for any Yangian invariant. These are functions of momentum twistors Z ’s, given by the positive coordinates α’s of parametrizations of the matrix C(α), evaluated on the support of polynomial equations C(α) · Z = 0. We provide evidence that the letters of Yangian invariants are related to the cluster algebra of Grassmannian G(4, n), which is relevant for the symbol alphabet of n-point scattering amplitudes. For n = 6, 7, the collection of letters for all Yangian invariants contains the cluster $$ \mathcal{A} $$ A coordinates of G(4, n). We determine algebraic letters of Yangian invariant associated with any “four-mass” box, which for n = 8 reproduce the 18 multiplicative-independent, algebraic symbol letters discovered recently for two-loop amplitudes.

The BCFW recursion relation allows to find out the tree-level scattering amplitudes for gluons and tensor gauge bosons in generalized Yang–Mills theory. We demonstrate that the corresponding MHV amplitudes for the tensor gauge bosons of spin-s and n gluons are invariant under conformal group of transformations. This is highly unexpected result for the higher-spin particles, in particular this is not true for the scattering amplitudes of gravitons. We discuss and compare the tree-level scattering amplitudes for the charged tensor bosons with the corresponding scattering amplitudes for gravitons, stressing their differences and similarities.

Abstract We present the inverse Penrose transform (the map from spacetime to twistor space) for self-dual Yang-Mills (SDYM) and its higher-spin extensions on a flat background. The twistor action for the higher-spin extension of SDYM (HS-SDYM) is of $$ \mathcal{BF} $$ BF -type. By considering a deformation away from the self-dual sector of HS-SDYM, we discover a new action that describes a higher-spin extension of Yang-Mills theory (HS-YM). The twistor action for HS-YM is a straightforward generalization of the Yang-Mills one.
