Measurements of jet cross sections in neutral current deep-inelastic scattering (NC DIS) using data taken with the H1 detector at HERA are accomplished by the precision measurement of double-differential inclusive jet, dijet and trijet cross sections at low photon virtualities 5.5 < Q2 < 80 GeV2, and by extending previous inclusive jet measurements in the range 150 < Q2 < 15000 GeV2 to low transverse jet momenta 5 < PT < 7 GeV. The strong coupling constant at the Z-boson mass, αs(mZ), is determined in next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) QCD using H1 inclusive jet and dijet cross section measurements. Complementary, αs(mZ) is determined together with parton distribution functions of the proton (PDFs) from jet and inclusive DIS data measured by the H1 experiment. The running of the strong coupling is tested at different values of the renormalisation scale and the results are found to be in agreement with the QCD expectations.

The DØ Collaboration has measured the inclusive jet cross section in [Formula: see text] collisions in several pseudorapidity ranges and at two center-of-mass energies. This article and its associated talk present three measurements. First, I present the inclusive jet cross section [Formula: see text] in 5 pseudorapidity bins. Second, the central jet cross section at [Formula: see text] is combined with the cross section at 1800 GeV to form a ratio where many uncertainties cancel. Third, the cross section for two or more jets is compared to the cross section for three or more jets (at [Formula: see text]).

The two-pion production in pp-collisions has been investigated in exclusive measurements from threshold up to Tp = 1.36 GeV . Total and differential cross sections have been obtained for the channels pnπ+π0, ppπ+π-, ppπ0π0 and also nnπ+π+. For intermediate incident energies Tp > 1 GeV , i.e. in the region, which is beyond the Roper excitation but at the onset of ΔΔ excitation the total ppπ0π0 cross section falls behind theoretical predictions by as much as an order of magnitude near 1.2 GeV, whereas the nnπ+π+ cross section is a factor of five larger than predicted. A model-unconstrained isospin decompostion of the cross section points to a significant contribution of an isospin 3/2 resonance other than the Δ(1232). As a possible candidate the Δ(1600) is discussed.

Production rates of large pT jets inpp collisions at RHIC and LHC energies are studied using the next-to-leading order calculation of S.D. Ellis, Z. Kunszt and D. Soper. The computed inclusive one-jet cross sections are compared against the CERN and Fermilab jet data from [Formula: see text] and pp collisions. The dependence of the results on the choice of parton distributions and renormalization/factorization scales is investigated.
