We consider the production of a single top quark in association with a W boson at LHeC based γp collider. We compute the cross-section for the process γp→WtX with the anomalous Wtb and Wtbγ couplings. We find that the sensitivities to anomalous couplings of top quark are shown to be comparable, even better than the ones obtained from direct searches at hadron colliders.

Abstract A measurement of the cross section of the associated production of a single top quark and a W boson in final states with a muon or electron and jets in proton-proton collisions at $$ \sqrt{s} $$ s = 13 TeV is presented. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 36 fb−1 collected with the CMS detector at the CERN LHC in 2016. A boosted decision tree is used to separate the tW signal from the dominant t$$ \overline{\mathrm{t}} $$ t ¯ background, whilst the subleading W+jets and multijet backgrounds are constrained using data-based estimates. This result is the first observation of the tW process in final states containing a muon or electron and jets, with a significance exceeding 5 standard deviations. The cross section is determined to be 89 ± 4 (stat) ± 12 (syst) pb, consistent with the standard model.

We summarise a search for the top quark with the Collider Detector at Fermilab (CDF) in a sample of pp collisions at Vs = 1 8 Te V with an integrated luminosity of 193 pb ~ 1. We find 12 events consistent with either two W bosons, or a W boson and at least one b jet. Both of these are signatures for tt events. The probability that the measured yield is consistent with the background is 026%. Though the statistics are too limited to establish firmly the existence of the top quark, a natural interpretation of the excess is that it is due to tt production. Under this assumption, constrained fits to individual events yield a top quark mass of 174 lO:::g GeV / c2? The tt production cross section is measured to be 13.9:::~:~ pb.
