The shortcomings in complex femtosecond pulse measurement of conventional spectral phase interferometry for direct electric-field reconstruction (SPIDER) are commented in this paper. To solve the problem, we propose an improved version of SPIDER, where single replica of the unknown pulse upconverts synchronously with two frequency-shifted narrow-banded long pulses. With the introduction of a suitable small delay between the upconverted pulses, the spectral phase of the unknown pulse can be directly calculated from the fringe-free spectra and Fourier-transform filtering is not required. The results of numerical simulation show that the accuracy of the new method in complex pulse measurement is higher than conventional SPIDER.

The cluster autocorrelation function ξc and the galaxy-cluster cross correlation ξgc are used to test the biased structure formation for scale-free spectra P(k)∝kn. Following Kaiser (1984), we assume that rich clusters form only at higfr density regions with the matter distribution represented by a Gaussian random field. AbstractWe construct the finitely generated free algebras and determine the free spectra of varieties of linear equivalential algebras and linear equivalential algebras of finite height corresponding, respectively, to the equivalential fragments of intermediate Gödel-Dummett logic and intermediate finite-valued logics of Gödel. Thus we compute the number of purely equivalential propositional formulas in these logics in n variables for an arbitrary n ∈ ℕ.
