The radiative decays of heavy mesons are studied in the heavy quark symmetry formalism. Assuming the traditional picture of photon emission by the confined quark or antiquark, we obtain the transition matrix elements for the heavy quark current sector. For the light quark sector we employ the ISGW quark model. The results obtained agree reasonably well with other estimations.

We analyze the structure of excited states of new heavy hadrons in the scenario with hadronic dark matter. Fine mass-splitting in a doublet of new mesons stipulates the existence of charged metastable heavy mesons. We describe the structure of new meson excited states in the framework of the heavy quark effective theory. Phenomenological consequences of fine and hyperfine splitting are considered in the hadronic dark matter scenario and beyond.

We calculate the decay width for [Formula: see text] in the framework of a non-relativistic quark (NRQ) model of heavy baryons where the light quarks play the role of spectators. Our calculation does not make an explicit use of the heavy quark symmetry. The branching ratio for the above process as calculated here agrees reasonably well with the experimental value.
