A production mechanism of heavy particles in e+e− annihilations is studied on a field theoretical basis using the bound state wave functions. The requirement that wave functions of hadrons overlap maximally with each other leads to the conclusion that (1) the model predicts a 2-jet structure in a one-loop diagram and (2) heavy hadrons in a jet have an equal velocity. Heavy particle production cross sections and their characteristic energy distributions are calculated for some typical reactions.

In this work, we present the study of emissions of light fragments produced in interactions of 160 GeV muons with emulsion nuclei. A total of 820 interactions with emulsion nuclei were collected. Thickness, coordinate and range of each track were measured. Charges of emitted fragments were identified and the corresponding energies were calculated. Multiplicity, total particle production cross-sections and angular distribution of particles (P, He, Li, Be and B) were presented. Forward–backward–angular correlations were measured for the emitted alpha particles. Short and long range correlation among pairs of Alfa particles were observed at specific angular intervals. The experimental data and the results of the angular correlation were used to find the probable mechanism of producing alpha particles and to reveal the dynamic characteristics of the reactions.

Cross sections of the colored scalar particle production in pp-collisions are calculated and differential and total cross sections of the corresponding parton subprocesses are obtained. The total cross section of scalar gluon production in pp-collisions at the LHC is estimated and the dominant decays of scalar gluons are discussed. The production cross section of scalar gluons F with masses mF ≲ 1300 GeV is shown to be sufficient for the effective production of these particles at the LHC.

AbstractWe present a deep learning solution to the prediction of particle production cross sections over a complicated, high-dimensional parameter space. We demonstrate the applicability by providing state-of-the-art predictions for the production of charginos and neutralinos at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at the next-to-leading order in the phenomenological MSSM-19 and explicitly demonstrate the performance for $$pp\rightarrow \tilde{\chi }^+_1\tilde{\chi }^-_1,$$pp→χ~1+χ~1-,$$\tilde{\chi }^0_2\tilde{\chi }^0_2$$χ~20χ~20 and $$\tilde{\chi }^0_2\tilde{\chi }^\pm _1$$χ~20χ~1± as a proof of concept which will be extended to all SUSY electroweak pairs. We obtain errors that are lower than the uncertainty from scale and parton distribution functions with mean absolute percentage errors of well below $$0.5\,\%$$0.5% allowing a safe inference at the next-to-leading order with inference times that improve the Monte Carlo integration procedures that have been available so far by a factor of $$\mathscr {O}(10^7)$$O(107) from $$\mathscr {O}(\mathrm{min})$$O(min) to $$\mathscr {O}(\mu \mathrm{s})$$O(μs) per evaluation.
