AbstractIntroductionLocated in the Sunda Megathrust zone, Mentawai Island is known as the epicenter of an active earthquake that has the potential to cause a tsunami. Students would be one of the most vulnerable groups during the disaster.ProblemThe low-level of School-Based Disaster Preparedness/Sekolah Siaga Bencana (SSB) of students’ preparedness in disaster risk reduction (DRR) can lead to increased vulnerability of students in facing disaster threats, especially a tsunami.MethodsThe study employed observational, correlative analytics with a cross-sectional approach. The sample includes 109 students from fifth and sixth grade in three elementary schools in Sipora, Mentawai Island district.ResultsThere was a significant influence between knowledge and attitude towards the preparedness of SSB students in DRR in Sipora, Mentawai Islands district.Conclusions:Knowledge and attitudes are key factors that must be taken into account in efforts to increase student preparedness to reduce the risk of a tsunami disaster.Sujarwo, Noorhamdani, Fathoni M. This research is entitled "Semiology Analysis on Sikerei Tattoo in Taileleu village, southwest Siberut, Mentawai Island" seen from the perspective of structuralism. This research is limited to a number of basic ideas relating to observations into the following three questions: (1) how the forms of Sikerei tattoo, (2) what the meaning of Sikerei tattoos, and (3) what the function of Sikerei tattoo. The objectives of this research were (1) to explain the forms of Sikerei tattoo, (2) to analyze the meaning of Sikerei tattoo, and (3) to describe the function of Sikerei tattoo. The theory used is from Pierce's about semiotics which is used to answer the purpose of this research. For the method of data analysis, the authors use qualitative research by emphasizing meaning and inner understanding (verstehen), reasoning, definitions of certain situations (in some contexts), more to examine things related to everyday life such as the culture of an area and also semiotic theory. Data collection techniques use literature study techniques in finding data that is relevant to the subject of analysis. This research is qualitative research using the form of field notes, interviews, official personal documents, and photographs or images. The object of this research is Sikerei who is tattooed and the data is tattoos. Finding in this analysis will be focused on the Sikerei tattoo in Taileleu village, southwest Siberut, Mentawai Island. First, the forms of Sikerei tattoo. Second, the meaning of Sikerei tattoo. Third, the function of Sikerei tattoo. Conclusion in this analysis is Sibalubalu as a symbol of health, said health because Sibalubalu is only used by Sikerei where Sikerei is a remedy for sick people in the Mentawai Islands especially in Taileleu village. And suggestion in this thesis is the early achievement that still needs to be developed and continued with more careful study, especially in terms of the research in the field of Sikerei tattoo.

The observation of broadband network seismic had been deployed in Sumatra For-Arc. The waveform data for this study were recorded from January 2014 – December 2016. The earthquake event data were selected with the epicenter of around 950 – 1800 in distance and Magnitude with more than 7 Mw. In this case, we use shear wave splitting to determine an anisotropic structure in Sumatra For-arc. Seismic Anisotropy can perform as a tool to classify and observe anisotropic structures of subsurface deformation processes beneath Sumatra For-Arc. The valid outcomes, in this case, have been gained that they only correspond to the upper layer, which has the delay time duration of 0.5 – 0.8 s is the anisotropic layer located in the Mentawai Island. The fast an anisotropic polarization direction found in Sumatra For-arc are parted into NE-SW direction found on the upper layer.

This study will describe the mechanism of leader termination and the implementation of inter-time leader replacement of the leader of Mentawai Island Regency’s Regional House of Representatives (RHoR). The research method used in this study is Sociological Juridical method with descriptive as the research design. In this case, there are two kinds of data which will be analyzed qualitatively, i.e. primary and secondary data. For the data collection, interview and documentation study are conducted. The results of this study are: 1) the mechanism of RHoR leader termination is proposed by political party to the leader of RHoR, 2) the mechanism of proposing the candidate of RHoR leader replacement is proposed by political party to RHoR leader, and then the RHoR leader announces the proposed of RHoR leader candidate replacement in RHoR plenary meeting, 3) the implementation of inter-time replacement is inaugurated by Governor with a Letter of Governor Decree about the inauguration of hiring the candidate of RHoR leader replacement. In this case, the term of office of RHoR leader’s inter-time replacement will be started from the date of taking leader’s oath led by District Court leader or the vice leader of District Court or senior judge chosen by the leader of District Court. On the other hand, the guide of taking the oath for the RHoR Leader’s inter-time replacement is not regulated in the Code of Conduct of Mentawai Island Regency’s RHoR; therefore, the guide of taking oath for the RHoR Leader’s inter-time replacement can be led by another RHoR leader.
