High performance coating films cured by novel penetrating method: Anionic resin paints

Silicone polymer although have some exceptional superior properties have limitations when it is exposed to harsh chemicals. Poly Ether Ketone (PEK), a high performance polymer is well known for its resistance towards acid, alkali and many solvents. PEK exhibits good environmental protection with better thermal stability. In the present study, the coatings were prepared using varying ratios of silicone and Poly Ether Ketone (PEK) to study the effect of concentration of PEK on mechanical, chemical, thermal and performance properties. The clear coatings of Silicone/PEK cured films were characterized for TGA, FTIR and evaluated for thermal resistance, corrosion resistance, resistance to 10% acid, alkali, sodium chloride, detergent solution and humidity resistance. The coating films were found to be stable up to 450 °C as indicated by TGA analysis. It is seen that the performance of silicone / PEK coating films increases with increasing concentration of PEK.

The coating is one key technology of lost foam casting (LFC). This paper discussed the influences of refractory aggregate contents on strength, viscosity and other performances of LFC coating, and develops a high performance coating which can meet the requirement of LFC for steel casting. The results shown that with the content of the high bauxite increasing and the content of zircon powders decreasing, the strength, permeability and attached quantity of the coating increased. The best ratio of refractory aggregate is 70% high bauxite and 30% zircon powders. The optimal formula in the experiments is 70% high bauxite, 30% zircon powders, 3% sodium bentonite, 0.5% CMC and 5% ludox. This coating has good comprehensive performances to meet the requirements of LFC steel casting.

Soluble functional (co)polyimides are of great interest in the area of separation processes or optical applications, due to their excellent mechanical-, thermal- and optical properties, their superior processability and the ability to adapt their properties to a wide range of special applications. Therefore, two series of novel (co)polyimides containing fluorinated sulfur- and carboxylic acid groups consisting of 4,4′-(hexafluoroisopropylidene)di(phthalic anhydride) (6FDA), 3,5-diaminobenzoic acid (DABA), 4,4′-diaminodiphenylsulfide (4,4′-SDA) and 3,3′-diaminodiphenylsulfone (3,3′-DDS) were synthesized in a two-step polycondensation reaction. The synthesized copolymers were characterized by using NMR, FTIR, GPC, and DSC. Furthermore, with regard to processing and potential applications, the thermal stability, solubility in common organic solvents, moisture uptake, and transparency were investigated. Compared to commercially available transparent polymers, i.e., polymethylmethacrylate and cycloolefin polymers, the sulfur (co)polyimides containing carboxyl groups showed much higher glass-transition temperatures, comparably low moisture uptake and high transmission at the sodium D-line. Furthermore, good solubility in commonly used organic solvents makes them very attractive as high-performance coating materials.
