Inorganic fullerene-like MoS 2 nanotubes synthesized by a gas–solid reaction were used as the electrode materials of hydrogen and lithium storage in aqueous and nonaqueous electrolytes, respectively. Very interesting results such as reversible hydrogen reduction/oxidation and lithium insertion have been obtained.
