The paper presents the results of the development and testing of a laboratory method for determining the strength characteristics of bitumen-mineral mixtures on the Lintel PK-21-01 strength meter. The conditions for testing the strength of bitumen-mineral mixtures are selected. The dependence between the bitumen adhesion index and the compressive strength of samples of bitumen-mineral mixtures based on it, determined according to the developed method, is shown. A decrease in the strength and adhesive properties of the binder was found with an increase in the content of the DST-30-01 polymer in bitumen. It is proposed to evaluate the possibility of performing research for the development of new types of bitumen products, to develop various production technologies and to select the optimal parameters for its production on the basis of standardized methods of testing bitumen and the developed methodology for determining the strength characteristics of bitumen-mineral mixtures.

Sustainable development of construction materials is directly related to research on the processes of hydration of binders. Builders need better types of cement, with lower cost and energy consumption in production. The development of spin chemistry methods allows us to consider the processes of hydration and structure formation of binders from the spin state of the elements involved in chemical reactions. Magnetic interactions have a significant effect on the spin dynamics and the control of the spin multiplicity of radical pairs. The practical implementation of magnetic effects on a binder can be carried out in various ways. However, a long-term impact can be achieved only by introducing ferromagnetic substances into the binders. In the paper presented the results of a study of the influence of the characteristics of finely dispersed powdered ferromagnetic additives on the strength characteristics of cement. Ferromagnetic additives regulate the behavior of the reactants during rotation during the hydration of the binders due to magnetic interactions and control the reactivity of the chemical reaction. A comparative analysis revealed that it is most expedient to use as powdery ferromagnetic additives are the waste from mining and processing enterprises of the Krivorozhsky field. The work investigated the magnetic and dispersed characteristics of 12 different dust. The experiments showed that the origin of dust and the method of their capture are determined their magnetic characteristics. Preparation of samples with the dust and determination of the strength characteristics of cement were carried out by standard methods. The results obtained made it possible to reveal the laws of the effect of the dispersed and magnetic properties of various dust on the degree of activation of binders.

The special features of various bearing deformation measurements for pin-type bearing tests of metallic materials are considered along with their impact on the magnitude of the «bearing elastic modulus» and bearing stress. These bearing test methods are present in ASTM and various institutional standards, though no state standard (GOST, GOST R) is currently available for bearing test method of metallic materials. Analysis of additional deformations which arise in determining the degree of hole bearing deformation is carried out. A set of sources of additional deformations is shown to be characteristic for each test procedure and is attributed to the design features of the device, the site and a way of mounting the extensometer. Additional deformations can be both tensile and compressive. It is shown that the impact of additional deformations on the «bearing elastic modulus» is limited to 14% for different procedures. No difference between the methods is revealed with regard to determination of the strength characteristics. At the same time the dispersion decreases with increase in plastic deformation and for bearing deformation about 4% the variation coefficient for all methods is no more than 1%. Advantages and shortcomings of the bearing test methods which affect the reproducibility of the results are considered. The effect of the specimen geometry on the bearing characteristics is considered. It is shown that increase both in the distance from the edge of the bearing specimen to the center of the hole for 1163T, VT6ch, 30KhGSA alloys and residual bearing deformation up to 6%, increase bearing strength characteristics.

The effect of negative temperatures on strength characteristics of plastic component joints (hot gas welding, gluing, 3D-welding) made with the use of additive technologies has been examined. It has been found out that 3D-wlding allows one to produce joints with the highest strength properties. It was shown that low temperature values (–30 °С) did not have the negative influence on strength properties of ABS-plastic joints but even increased them as compared with analogues samples tested at the room temperature.
