Abstract Integration of renewable energy sources and the improvement of the technological base may not only reduce the consumption of fossil fuel and environmental load, but also ensure the power supply in regions with difficult fuel delivery or power failures. The main goal of the research is to develop the methodology of evaluation of the wind turbine economic efficiency. The research has demonstrated that the electricity produced from renewable sources may be much more expensive than the electricity purchased from the conventional grid.

Paper considers the perspectives and potential of using renewable energy sources to decide the global warming problem. The World trend of increasing electricity generation by photovoltaic power stations according to the International Renewable Energy Agency and the trend of increasing the installed capacity of photovoltaic power stations in Ukraine, which supply the generated capacity at a "green" tariff according to the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy utilities of Ukraine. Opportunities and conditions of using artificial neural networks to defined the power generation of photovoltaic power stations on the example of the power plant "Tsekinivska-2" 4–5 turns are investigated. A platform developed by the European Commission – Photovoltaic Geographical Information System – was used to create a database for the creation and training of artificial neural networks. Regularities of change of meteorological satellite data and their influence on electricity generation of photovoltaic power stations are established. For this purpose, the software complex MATLAB was used, namely the module for the creation of artificial neural networks – Neural Networks Toolbox. The height of the sun is conditionally considered constant and its value is repeated from year to year or has a slight deviation, so it can be used as an indicator of the hour and can be considered known in advance, so determined by empirical formulas and changes only under certain astrophysical laws. Regarding the temperature at 2 m and the wind at 10 m, these meteorological data are known, as they are needed not only for forecasting the operation of renewable energy sources but also in agriculture. Therefore, data related to solar radiation are considered to be the most problematic, as this value is the most difficult to determine. Satellite data may have an error, the installation of weather stations, namely quality pyranometers is a costly procedure, but will help provide a training sample of quality data. To forecast with satisfactory accuracy, it is necessary to collect data for 1 year of operation of the weather station. The nntool and Anfis MATLAB modules were used to predict generation. But the obtained results can be used to assess the effectiveness of the photovoltaic power stations, but they are unsatisfactory for the operational balancing of the system.

The study presents a brief description and problems of power supply of the Khabarovsk territory. The problems and prospects of the development of renewable energy sources, in particular in the Khabarovsk territory, are considered. There are three main approaches that exist in the scientific community for comparing energy objects. The first approach is based on comparing the technical indicators of power facilities, the second on calculating the normalized cost of electricity, and the third is based on monetizing the environmental and climatic consequences of power facilities. During the study, it was found that these approaches differ in the number of indicators included in the calculation of the cost of electricity. In accordance with the selected approaches, evaluation of economic efficiency of three operating power plants of the Khabarovsk territory – coal, diesel and solar – was carried out, monetized estimates of the full cost of three alternatives for the production of electricity in the region were given, taking into account the environmental component. The analysis made it possible to conclude that under the current market conditions, renewable energy sources are most profitable in decentralized areas, and quantitative evaluations have shown that with the introduction of payments for carbon monoxide emissions, renewable energy sources become an economically effective way of organizing energy supply in the region, including in the regions with centralized power supply.

Purpose. The aim of the article is substantiation of theoretical bases of RES use and practical aspects of economic efficiency of various projects on use of solar energy depending on territorial conditions of the enterprises of agrarian and industrial complex of Ukraine as a factor of resource saving and energy efficiency. Methodology of research. Dialectical methods of cognition of processes and phenomena, economic, financial, comparative and monographic methods (for analysis and evaluation of the effectiveness of RES in different territorial conditions of Ukraine), are used to achieve this goal as well as abstract and logical method (for theoretical generalizations, conclusions). Findings. The efficiency of solar energy use in different territorial conditions of Ukraine is substantiated. The efficiency of projects under different scenarios of production of agro-industrial complex (drinking water) is calculated on the example of PJSC “Dobra Voda” of Zboriv district of Ternopil region. It is established that the most effective project for this enterprise in all studied production scenarios is a project with a capacity of 1 MW, the second place in terms of efficiency is occupied by a project with a capacity of 850 kW, in third place ‒ a project with a capacity of 700 kW, and the least effective is a project with a capacity of 585 kW. The economic efficiency of investment projects in the dynamics of 25 years using discounting methods was studied and it was found that the project with a capacity of 1 MW is the most effective in all scenarios of production at the enterprise. It is concluded on the basis of an in-depth study of the effectiveness of existing projects in different territorial conditions of Ukraine that these projects for the use of solar energy in the eastern and southern regions of the country may have better performance indicators of economic efficiency 1.5-2 times. Taking into account the experience of the EU-28, it is substantiated that in Ukraine, which has a strong biological potential, the priority should be to accelerate the development of bioenergy, which will increase RES and on this basis to replace gas and oil, reduce production costs, improve its competitiveness; to clean the environment in all regions of the country; increase the number of jobs and improve the social and economic living conditions of the population. Originality. Theoretical approaches to the assessment of economic efficiency of projects of different capacity for the use of solar energy according to the options that take into account the territorial features of their implementation at the enterprises of the agro-industrial complex of Ukraine are substantiated. Practical value. The main provisions and conclusions set out in the article contain methodological and practical recommendations for the formation of a system of resource conservation and the use of renewable energy sources at enterprises. Key words: resource saving, energy efficiency, renewable energy sources, solar energy, wind energy, biomass energy, hydropower, efficiency, competitiveness.

Electricity production is one of the major sources of global gas house gas (GHG) emission and is therefore responsible for climate change. In this context, renewable energy sources may have a significant role. Our research analyses the financial return of solar power stations in Hungary. Lowcapacity (0.3-1.0 MW) solar power stations were examined to highlight differences between the former (mandatory take-over tariff, KÁT) and present (renewable energy subsidising scheme, METÁR) renewable energy take-over schemes regarding financial return. Our results show that both analysed projects have a positive financial return. However, the KÁT project has an excessive return rate, therefore the phasing out of the scheme can be considered justified.
