AbstractLetXbe an irreducible complex analytic space withj:U ↪ Xan immersion of a smooth Zariski-open subset, and let 𝕍 be a variation of Hodge structure of weightnoverU. Assume thatXis compact Kähler. Then, provided that the local monodromy operators at infinity are quasi-unipotent,IHk(X, 𝕍) is known to carry a pure Hodge structure of weightk+n, whileHk(U, 𝕍) carries a mixed Hodge structure of weight at leastk+n. In this note it is shown that the image of the natural mapIHk(X, 𝕍) →Hk(U, 𝕍) is the lowest-weight part of this mixed Hodge structure. In the algebraic case this easily follows from the formalism of mixed sheaves, but the analytic case is rather complicated, in particular when the complementX — Uis not a hypersurface.

AbstractIn this work, we set up a theory of p-adic modular forms over Shimura curves over totally real fields which allows us to consider also non-integral weights. In particular, we define an analogue of the sheaves of kth invariant differentials over the Shimura curves we are interested in, for any p-adic character. In this way, we are able to introduce the notion of overconvergent modular form of any p-adic weight. Moreover, our sheaves can be put in p-adic families over a suitable rigid analytic space, that parametrizes the weights. Finally, we define Hecke operators, including the U operator, that acts compactly on the space of overconvergent modular forms. We also construct the eigencurve.

AbstractWe study the stability map from the rigid analytic space of semistable points in P3 to convex sets in the building of Sp2 over a local field and construct a pure affinoid covering of the space of stable points.

AbstractWe study a cylindrical Lagrangian cobordism group for Lagrangian torus fibres in symplectic manifolds which are the total spaces of smooth Lagrangian torus fibrations. We use ideas from family Floer theory and tropical geometry to obtain both obstructions to and constructions of cobordisms; in particular, we give examples of symplectic tori in which the cobordism group has no non-trivial cobordism relations between pairwise distinct fibres, and ones in which the degree zero fibre cobordism group is a divisible group. The results are independent of but motivated by mirror symmetry, and a relation to rational equivalence of 0-cycles on the mirror rigid analytic space.

This chapter includes some additional material on homotopies. In particular, for a smooth variety V, there exists an “inflation” homotopy, taking a simple point to the generic type of a small neighborhood of that point. This homotopy has an image that is properly a subset of unit vector V, and cannot be understood directly in terms of definable subsets of V. The image of this homotopy retraction has the merit of being contained in unit vector U for any dense Zariski open subset U of V. The chapter also proves the continuity of functions and homotopies using continuity criteria and constructs inflation homotopies before proving GAGA type results for connectedness. Additional results regarding the Zariski topology are given.

AbstractLet Y be a smooth del Pezzo surface of degree 3 polarized by a very ample divisor that is not proportional to the anticanonical one. Then the affine cone over Y is flexible in codimension one. Equivalently, such a cone has an open subset with an infinitely transitive action of the special automorphism group on it.

AbstractLet(where t ε ℝ) and let μ be the G-invariant probability measure on G/Γ. We show that if x is a non-periodic point of the flow given by the (ut)-action on G/Γ then the (ut)-orbit of x is uniformly distributed with respect to μ; that is, if Ω is an open subset whose boundary has zero measure, and l is the Lebesque measure on ℝ then, as T→∞, converges to μ(Ω).
