The paper represents the studies of the process of carbonaceous raw material gasification. The initial material is represented by bituminous coal of grade H with the carbon (C) content of 79.2-85.3 %. Experimental studies have been used to substantiate the parameters of combustible generator gases (СО, Н2, СН4) output depending on the temperature of a reduction zone of the reaction channel and gas flow velocity along its length. It has been identified that the volume of the raw material input to be used for gasification process changes in direct proportion depending on the amount of burnt-out carbon and blow velocity. The gasification is intensified in terms of equal concentration of oxygen and carbon in the reaction channel of an underground gas generator. The gasification rate is stipulated by the intensity of chemical reactions, which depend immediately on the modes of blow mixture supply. Moreover, they depend directly on the intensity of oxygen supply to the coal mass and removal of the gasification products.

The present work concerns the preliminary analysis for the study of the (n,2n) reaction channel of the 165Ho isotope at near threshold energies: 10.1, 10.4 and 10.7 MeV (Eth=8.04 MeV). The cross sections for the population of both the ground state (Jπ=1+) and the isomeric state (Jπ=6-, Eex=139.8 keV) of the 164Ho product-nucleus were measured at the afore mentioned energies via the activation technique relative to the 27Al(n,α)24Na and 197Au(n,2n)196Au reactions. The quasi-monoenergetic neutron beams were produced through the 2H(d,n)3He reaction in the 5.5 MV Tandem Van de Graaf accelerator of N.C.S.R ''Demokritos''. The preliminary experimental results are compared with theoretical predictions based on TALYS code.

We have examined here the possibility of functionalization of the B12N12 cluster by methyl azide by means of a [2 + 3] cycloaddition reaction in analogy with the spontaneous functionalization of C20 fullerene using the same reaction. To achieve more reliable data, all possible interactions at different positions and orientations were considered by reaction channel study and potential energy surface calculations. Also, Born–Oppenheimer molecular dynamics simulations were used to find probable species which could emerge during the reactions.
