A method of calculating the forward scattering amplitude for fermions and scalar bosons with the exchange of scalar particle is suggested. The Bethe-Salpeter ladder equation for the imaginary part of the amplitude is constructed and a solution in Regge asymptotical form is found and the corrections to the amplitude due to the exit from mass shell are calculated.

An elementary derivation of the optical potential for high energies is given. For the determination of the optical potential only the knowledge of the scattering amplitude for free nucleons and of the autocorrelation function for density fluctuations is necessary. The numerical calculation of the real- and imaginary part of the optical potential was performed using the Tabakin potential.

Pomeron and non vacuum reggeon parameters which reasonably describe total and elastic cross sections are obtained. The ratio of the real and imaginary part of the forward elastic scattering amplitude is calculated with these parameters and it coincides with the experimental data in the whole energy region. The shower enhancement coefficient in the quasi-eikonal approach appears to be less than unity which corresponds to the definite distribution of parton showers in incident hadrons.
