The development of informatics and sensor techniques has extended the possibilities of flight parameter measurement. It allows for extensive modification of control and navigation systems in air vehicles. This advance can also be noticed in the research of the Department of Avionics and Control at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics, Rzeszow University of Technology. Research in the area of digital flight control systems was initiated at the Department of Avionics and Control over twenty years ago.

Die Hardware-in-the-Loop-Simulation (HiLS) von Maschinen und Anlagen wird eingesetzt, um die Zeiten zur Herstellung einer Maschine zu verkürzen und die Softwarequalität der Steuerung zu erhöhen. Inzwischen spielt sie auch bei der Projektierung und der Konzeptüberprüfung eine immer größere Rolle. Der Fachbeitrag zeigt auf, mit welchen Methoden der Modellierung wiederverwendbare Modelle geschaffen und so automatisch HiLS generiert werden können.   The hardware-in-the-loop simulation (HiLS) of machinery and equipment is used to reduce the time needed for producing a machine tool and to enhance the software quality of control systems. Today HiLS also plays an important role for commissioning machine tools and for the concept verification. This paper points out which methods can be used for the modeling of reusable models and, thus, how an automated generation of a HiLS can be realized.

With the rapid development of the mechanical and electrical industry, enterprises are increasingly concerned about the degree of precision CNC machine tools. The traditional CNC machine can only perform simple parts processing operations, gradually exposing the shortcomings of high precision parts. To solve this problem, in this paper, we propose that combined SPCE061A SCM and MASTER-K10S PLC, to improve the function and precision of CNC machine tool control systems, and promote the efficiency and reliability of industrial production.

Modern CNC machine tools constitute advanced mechatronic systems. Numerous works are undertaken on the development of new intelligent control systems for CNC machine tools [1–5] equipped with unique diagnostic systems. One of the development directions of CNC control systems is exploring new forms and techniques of operator-machine communication as well as new, simpler machine tool programming procedures. Nowadays, there are many techniques for programming CNC machine tools [6], [7]. These techniques have taken a variety of forms both due to historical limits of technology and various environmental requirements. Despite the existence of complex control systems for operation and programming CNC machine tools or CAD/CAM systems facilitating the generation of a machining strategy for complicated elements, there is a demand for machine tools that are easier to operate, and therefore do not require advanced programming skills for operation.

The cutting force is widely regarded as being the most valuable information when observing a metal cutting process. Considering practicability, indirect cutting force measurement methods which forego additional sensors have been studied in academic field. Disturbance observer-based cutting force estimation method was known as a typical example, and its validity was verified in linear motor driven stage. However, accurate cutting force estimation is still difficult in ball-screw driven stage because of non-linear friction and resonance. In this study, feasibility of sensorless cutting force estimation was verified by using large scale commercial machine tool. Considering that the motion of rotational and translational elements independently, cutting force observer (CFOB) was modeled as two-degree-of-freedom system. The CFOB was mounted to control systems of both stage and spindle head which were driven by ball-screw and servo motor. While friction force and torque have non-linear position dependence, high repeatability was confirmed. Thus, their non-linearity could be attenuated by identifying friction force and torque beforehand machining operation. From experimental results, it was shown that tooth-pass frequency and second harmonics component of the cutting forces could be estimated accurately by using the CFOB. The results were acquired from control systems of both stage and spindle head.
