Convenient procedures are reported for the synthesis of the compounds (η-C7H7)Mo(CO)2MR3 (M = Si, R = Cl; M = Ge, R = Cl, F, Ph; M = Sn, R = Cl, Ph ). The triphenyl derivatives were accessible through the anion [(η-C7H7)Mo(CO)2]−, while the MCl3 derivatives were prepared from (η-C7H7)Mo(CO)2Cl. Infrared, n.m.r., and mass spectrometric properties are reported.
