Facile methods of the preparation of heterocyclic analogues of Salen and Vanen are reported. The azamethine fragments of Schiff bases were replaced by 1,2,4-triazoles. The method of synthesis described may afford to prepare the series of ligand systems with different substituents with high overall yields relatively to the hydrazide. Unlike Schiff's bases, all synthesized compounds are chemically stable and resistant to oxidizing and reducing agents. The molecules are entirely conjugate to the π-systems, which is likely to be reflected in the electronic properties of coordination compounds. Obtained ligand systems could maintain great interest in the synthesis of various transition metal coordination compounds. These could be concluded from the fact that coordination behavior of synthesized ligands is expected to be similar to that is observed for Salen an Vanen type ligands respectively. The resulting compounds have the same donor centers from Salen and Vanen, having a similar planar structure and coordination behavior. All ligands are tetradentate, may leave vacant positions in the coordination sphere of transition metals and form five- and six-membered cycles. The Vanen analogues are capable of forming binuclear complex compounds, since they have internal N2O2 (for coordination with 3d metal ions) and external O2O2 (for exo-coordination of ions of lantanides) donor centers. The compounds obtained are capable of forming coordination compounds with antibacterial, antifungal, anticancer, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimalarial, antiviral activities and also as homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts in polymerization, epoxidation, hydrosilylation reactions, sensors etc. The analogues were analyzed by NMR and IR spectroscopy.

New methods of 3-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-1,2,4-triazoles synthesis were developed. Obtained ligands was used for synthesis of three new complex compounds of uranyl-ion with general composition [UO2(HL)2(Solv)]. These compounds were characterized by NMR and IR spectroscopy.

A formation of multifunctional composite coatings with a copper matrix by chemical vapor deposition is an effective method of modifying the surface of metals and non-metals and the increase in the deposition rate of coatings. It is important that the copper complex compounds are formed during chemical vapor deposition coatings and are included in the coatings composition. During the work by methods of thermogravimetric analysis and IR spectroscopy the composite coatings with copper matrix obtained from solutions containing copper sulphate and polyvinylpyrrolidone were studied. The results of thermogravimetry and IR spectroscopy of these components were presented. Samples of composite coatings for IR spectroscopy were obtained as a suspension of the coatings in vaseline oil. Deposited coating was scraped off from the substrate, and then was triturated in an agate mortar with vaseline oil until they formed a stable not stratified suspension. These suspensions were analyzed. The samples for thermogravimetry containing copper sulfate and polyvinylpyrrolidone were obtained by mixing these components. The following proofs of interaction in polyvinylpyrrolidone - copper sulphate system with forming a complex of polyvinylpyrrolidone - copper and includings of this complex into the coating were obtained. The differences of thermogravimetric curves of the mixture CuSO4 5H2O and polyvinylpyrrolidone were established. They are softening temperature increasing in the polymer material on 30 ... 35 °С towards to the softening temperature of polyvinylpyrrolidone, the appearance of the endothermic process, probably associated with the interaction of the polyvinylpyrrolidone with the copper, and the increase in the thermal stability of the polymer component of the system on 50-60 °С, which can be also with the result of complexation of polyvinylpyrrolidone - copper. The estimated structure of this complex, which reflects the results of the IR-spectrogram of the composite coatings analysis was presented. The IR spectra have absorption bands with wave numbers corresponding to the stretching vibrations of C-H bonds in the aromatic ring of polyvinylpyrrolidone, the stretching vibrations of the group – CH2 - and C-N bonds, which are also typical for the polyvinylpyrrolidone. This indicates the presence of polyvinylpyrrolidone in the coating or in its complex compound. In the spectra of the coatings the absorption bands in the range of 1750-1250 cm-1 are presented, which correspond to the stretching vibrations of C=O in the aromatic part of polyvinylpyrrolidone compound, in particular, in the group -CONHR, but they are shifted on about 50 cm-1 with respect to the same bands in the spectra of polyvinylpyrrolidone solution. Such shift is typical for the complex compounds of polyvinylpyrrolidone - copper which caused the C=O bond deformation, which occurs during the formation of additional bond of oxygen and copper atoms: C=O ∙∙∙ Cu, and indicates the presence of such complexes in a coating.Forcitation:Serbinovskiy M.Yu., Vasil'yeva N.A., Popova O.V. Three nickel thiosemicarbazone mixed ligands complexes have been synthesized. Complexes with the formula [NiL(PPh3)]Cl, [Ni2L2(Phen)],[Ni2L2(Bpy)] (where L= 2,3,4-trihydroxybenzaldehydethiosemicarbazone, PPh3=Triphenylphosphine, Phen=1,10-phenanthroline, Bpy= 2,2 –Bipyridine)have been characterized by IR spectroscopy, as well as elemental analysis. The structure of [NiL (PPh3)]Cl has been determined by X-raycrystallography. The crystal structure of this complex shows that the Schiff base ligand functions as an N,O,S chelating anion to the phosphine –coordinated nickel(II) atom, which exists as a distorted square – planar geometry.

Three new samarium(III) complex compounds with chlorhexidine as ligand and mixed ligands chlorhexidine/o-phenanthroline have been prepared and characterized by elemental and thermogravimetrical analyses, infrared, electronic and luminescence spectra. The complexes corresponded to the formulas: [Sm(CHX)(NO3)2]� NO3, [Sm(CHX)(o-phen)2]� (NO3)3 and [Sm2(CHX)(o-phen)2(NO3)4]�(NO3)2, where CHX was the chlorhexidine. Chlorhexidine acted as neutral tetradentate NNNN donor, coordinating through the four imine nitrogen atoms. The two mixed ligands complexes showed a strong luminescent emission in solid state, characteristic of samarium(III) ion. The metal complexes and the chlorhexidine diacetate were in vitro evaluated for their antimicrobial activity against two Gram negative bacteria. The results revealed that all compounds were very effective in reducing the bacterial growth rate, even at low concentration.

The purpose of the study was the synthesis and study of the structure of mixed complexes of palmitate, calcium oleate with acetamide, nicotinamide and thiocarbamide. The mixed coordination compounds of palmitate and calcium oleate were synthesized. The composition, individuality, thermal behavior, methods of coordinating the palmitate and oleate fragments, acetamide, nicotinamide and thiocarbamide molecules have been established. Comparison of the diffraction patterns of calcium palmitate and oleate, free ligand molecules and synthesized compounds showed the mismatch of the diffractograms, conseqently that the synthesized complexes have an individual crystal lattice different from the starting materials. The method of coordination of amide molecules, the environment of the central ion, are proved by IR spectroscopy. Acetamide molecules are coordinated with the central atom through an oxygen atom, thiocarbamide and nicotinamide

The title compound, N-(2-pyridylmethyl)-L-alanine) zinc(II), [Zn(C10H11N3O2S)], a coordination polymer derived from the mixed ligands, N-(2-pyridylmethyl)-L-alanine (HL1) and ammonium thiocyanide (L2) has been synthesized and characterized by IR spectroscopy, 1H-NMR, elemental analysis, thermogravimetric analysis and single crystal x-ray structure determination.The single crystal X-ray structure analysis of the title compoundreveals a molecular polymeric compound that crystallizes in the orthorhombic crystal system and P2(1)2(1)2(1) space group. The ligand acts as a bridge between adjacent zinc(II) centres, each of which adopts a five-coordinate geometry.  Zinc bonds to two N atoms and one O atom of HL1, one N atom of L2 and one O atom of another HL1 ligand. This is confirmed by IR spectroscopy. Aim. In order to study the radioprotective activity were were obtained in the tryptophanates of cobalt (II), manganese (II), copper (II) and zinc. Methods. The composition and structure of the complexes were studied by elemental, thermogravimetric analyzes and IR infrared spectroscopy. To determine the presence of the Radioprotective Properties of the Co (II), Mn (II), Cu (II), Zn complexes with tryptophane, a test was conducted for the 30-day survival of irradiated animals. Results. The results of thermogravimetric studies have shown that the final product of the thermal decomposition of all compounds is metal oxide, respectively. The method of IR spectroscopy showed that the ligands in the composition of the metal (II) complexes enter the neutral form and coordinate with the complexing agent through the nitrogen atom. The results of experiments with complexes showed that they have noticeable radioprotective activity. The radioprotective activity of Co (II) complexes with tryptophan is 55%, Mn (II) with tryptophan 50%, Cu (II) with tryptophan 40%, and Zn 30%. They improve the survival and average life expectancy of lethally irradiated mice, not reaching the level of the known cystamine radioprotector, which is 80%. Conclusions. The data obtained by us testify to the prospects of using the complexes of Co (II), Mn (II), Cu (II), Zn with tryptophan for preventive purposes and in order to prevent local radiation injuries. In this work, coordination compounds of Co (II) with derivatives of dihydro-4H-3,1-benzoxazines were synthesized by a chemical method and their composition, structure, and physicochemical properties were studied. ... According to the data of elemental analysis and analysis for metal, the obtained complex compounds have the composition ML2, where M is metal, L are ligands: 2- [2-hydroxyphenyl] -4,4-diphenyl-1,2-dihydro-4H-3,1benzoxazine (L1), 2- [2-hydroxy-5-nitrophenyl] -4,4-diphenyl-1 , 2-dihydro-4H-3,1-benzoxazine (L2), 2- [2hydroxynaphthyl] -4,4-diphenyl-1,2-dihydro-4H-3,1-benzoxazine (L3), 2- [ 2-hydroxynaphthyl] -4,4-diethyl-1,2dihydro-4H-3,1-benzoxazine (L4). The structure and properties of the obtained complex compounds were studied by IR spectroscopy. According to IR spectroscopy data, it was found that in all complex compounds, the ligand participates in the open azomethine form; coordination with the metal atom involves two oxygen atoms and a nitrogen atom of the azomethine fragment of the ligand. It was found that the ligand in the complex performs a tridentate chelate-bridging function. The structure of complex compounds of cobalt with derivatives of benzoxazines is proposed.
