Abstract THERMALLOY 63W is a cast nickel-chromium-tungsten-iron alloy produced for service at temperature up to 1900 F. Centrifugally cast reformer tubes comprise one of its high-temperature applications. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as creep. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as casting, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-352. Producer or source: Abex Corporation, Engineered Products Division.

Abstract HPM, or 25Cr-38Ni-Mo-Ti, is a wrought alloy developed for cracking tubes in ethylene plants. Development was aimed at tubes with similar or better elevated temperature strength and carburization resistance compared to HP grade centrifugally cast tubes, but with higher ductility, better toughness, and ability to be produced in longer and smaller tubing. See also Alloy Digest SS-307, March 1975, and SS-689, July 1997, for data about the HP (UCI-190) grade. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness and creep. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as joining. Filing Code: Ni-541. Producer or source: Sumitomo Metal USA.

Abstract IN-519 was developed primarily for application as centrifugally cast tubes in steam-hydrocarbon reformer furnaces. It has significantly higher stress-rupture properties than HK-40 (25Cr-20Ni), which is most commonly used for such components. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as creep and fatigue. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as casting, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-246. Producer or source: Abex Corporation, Engineered Products Division.

Abstract OREMET HPC 85W-15Mo is a vacuum consumable electrode melted and centrifugally cast refractory tungsten alloy having 100% density. It is recommended where strength and/or corrosion resistance at high temperatures are required. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, microstructure, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as creep. It also includes information on high temperature performance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: W-9. Producer or source: Oregon Metallurgical Corporation.

Small amounts of nickel are added to titanium to improve the crevice corrosion resistance but this results in an alloy which has sheet fabrication difficulties and is subject to the formation of large Ti2Ni precipitates. These large precipitates can serve as local corrosion sites; but in a smaller more widely dispersed form, they can have a beneficial effect on crevice corrosion resistance. The purpose of the present work is to show that the addition of a small amount of Mo to the Ti-1.5Ni alloy reduces the Ti2Ni precipitate size and produces a more elongated grained microstructure. It has recently been reported that small additions of Mo to Ti-0.8 to lw/o Ni alloys produce good crevice corrosion resistance and improved fabrication properties.
